Really great day out and would definitely do again. Lovely staff who were really friendly. Once you got the hang of it, it was really fun although some of the locks were really hard to open and the needed to 3 of us.

Disappointed The heater didn't work ,the radio didn't work Surely the boat should of been checked over and all in working order before we took it out The weather wasn't good so we were all wet and very cold on our return

A great day for all the family we all had a go at steering the boat, a bit tricky at first but you soon get the hang of it. The boat company were very good at explaining everything, we will be doing it again soon.

We arrived to be great by a really lovely and very helpful instructor who had alot of patience’s with me. After we had completed our instructions we set off. The boats weren’t to hard to control. The weather wasn’t the best but it didn’t spoil our fun! We decided to take a picnic. The boats were kicked out with a portable table and cutlery which made it even easier for us to enjoy our day. On our return, they were on hand to help us steer the boats into the assigned moorings and luckily we did so well we got a great cheer from all the people from the pub watching us.

Absolutely fantastic, my sister and I are from the United States. I owned a pontoon boat rental service in Michigan. This was a great experience, and I would recommend anybody with a little bit of boating experience can figure it out the canal system is a very unique system that the United Kingdom has, if you like to boat then everybody should experience it. Very tranquil and relaxing.

A brilliant experience for the whole family. Teenagers got on board thinking it was a boring way to travel- till………We came to the first gate …after that they were fully engrossed in steering, manoeuvring and opening gates. My daughter was apprehensive about her dog but he was engrossed to watch ducks swans and wildlife along the banks !!

We had a fantastic family day on the water celebrating two birthdays! We were a group of 8, 3 generations and 3 dogs - and all had such fun! The boat was clean and in great working condition. The induction at the start was really reassuring and thorough- I’d definitely recommend watching the video on their website beforehand too if you’re a first timer. We brought a picnic with us, but there is also a stop off at the half way point with a very friendly pop up trailer with the loveliest staff selling hot/cold beverages and food! A few pubs too! You’ll definitely surprise yourself how quickly you’ll pick up the skill if you’re a first timer - it was cool how hands on you’d get with the swing bridges too! Everyone on the canal was really friendly and the scenery was gorgeous! Overall, it was a really fun day out! Thank you Skipton Boat Hire 😊

If you're a fan of the narrow boat programs on TV and YouTube, then a visit to Skipton for a taste of narrow boating should be on your to-do list. We visited in early February, very much in the off season, and we were able to enjoy a lovely 30-minute cruise for only £4 per person. Truly a bargain for such a unique experience. Our boatman, Pete, was a great fellow and capable Skipper. At three times the price I would have still done it and still raved about it, but for a paltry £4, the price of a pint of beer, you get bragging rights to say you cruised the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Just great!
