It was a very interesting experience exploring the darker side of Osaka-not your typical tourist hotspots. Our guides Rudy and Alex were so knowledgable and shared unique Japanese history. The tour is a little over 3 hours of walking but very easy since there are breaks along the way. They even provided a surprise snack of chicken karaage from Shinsekai. Making the experience that much more authentic. Rudy and Alex were very open and put all of our questions at ease. Highly recommend this unique experience to all adults. Most enjoyable evening and well done!

An excellent small group tour with Kevin as our guide. He gave us great insight into the lesser known, less touristy side of downtown Osaka and it made for a fun, interesting and and engaging night. My husband and I had been on this tour a few years ago and enjoyed it so much that this time we brought along our daughter and son- in law. It didn’t disappoint and the food we had at the end of the tour (if you book this addition) this time was very enjoyable! Thanks again Kevin!. We thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to go on a tour with a difference!

An interesting tour of the other side of Osaka that most tourist do not see. Mark was excellent with his knowledge and ability to deliver it in a fun way. It is evident that he truly appreciates all aspects of Japanese culture. Even as a frequent traveller to Japan this tour is a must.

My Aussie husband and I had a fantastic time last week, with our Irish-rock singing guide. We learned a lot, laughed a lot and had good food. My husband said that our guide was his favorite one, EVER (and we do a lot of tours)!

5 stars for the tour Entertaining guide, interesting topics, good pacing. Probably best for people who don't know a lot about Japan. I was previously an exchange student and knew a fair amount already, so I only learned a few bits and didn't have any moments of shock. However, several others in the group seemed quite shaken. I didn't feel the guide gave enough gravity to some of the heavier topics--it all felt a bit too surface level. Again, it may be because I was already familiar with them and expected more. I chose not to participate in the red light district portion due to a lot of mixed feelings. 3 stars for the dinner The main reason we chose to do the optional dinner is because they advertise that it's vegetarian friendly. It's very hard to find vegetarian options in Japan, so I was excited to have one less meal to think about and to also try something more local and authentic than I might usually find. I messaged them in advance to confirm. I was told I would not get a snack on the tour (because it's takoyaki and there's no substitution). Fine, no problem. I gave my portion to my carnivore husband. For dinner, they said there would be 3 dishes and dessert for vegetarians. Unfortunately, they never conveyed this to the guide. Our group table was served sushi platters, fried lotus on a stick, some fried meat (maybe karaage or tonkatsu, not sure), and cabbage salad while the guide scrambled to order something separate for me. I ended up with some pieces of vegetable tempura, edamame, some of the lotus (very tasty) a couple of pieces of egg sushi (from the platter), and my own cabbage salad. No dessert for anyone. All in all, it was fine, but not particularly filling. And definitely no better than what I could have cobbled together for myself from the conbini.
