Nara Park
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City and is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. These tame creatures are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods and walk freely in Nara. Over time, these cute deers have learned to bow to visitors-a sign for a treat. For over 1,300 years, humans and deer have peacefully coexisted in Nara. Today, they are protected as Natural Monuments, and revered as holy animals in Nara.
There are around 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine, to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. The shrine is renowned for Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion red torii gates, which create a stunning and immersive tunnel-like pathway up the sacred Mount Inari. In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family, and the fulfillment of all other wishes.

Great guide, thank you Lucy. Safe driver thank you Mr. Yamada. Trip is just great all around. Just the time at the shrine we would have liked at least 20 more minutes to enjoy the foodNd the shrine. The time we got we hat to choose between enjoying the the food or the shrine

Have always had a pleasant experience with Viator and always prefer and rely on Viator but was not satisfied at all this time as time management of the one day tour was not done properly at all too much time was given to us at Nara park ..feeding the deers took hardly half an hour as deer were satisfied due to many tourists around and then we had to rush to see bamboo forest and the lake side missed Kimono farm and reached Fusima Shrine when it turned dark so our main highlight of the day we were not able to enjoy or see. Disappointed for the first time with Viator

Tina was a great guide yesterday. She was super communicative before the tour, and during the tour. Before we’d get off the bus, she’d give us information about the area, and text us the google maps link to the meeting point. She really took care of us the whole time. What I also liked about this tour is that it was very much open for us to explore the stops. Tina gave us the info, gave us the meeting time and location, and set us off. Thank you Tina!

Our guide was really good and understanding. We were able to see a lot of locations in one day. The deer were fun, the gardens and bamboo were beautiful.

This is a good tour to see specific highlights of Nara and Kyoto. My desire is that based on other reviews of travelers that had guides like Amy, Theodore etc, they actually had guides that interacted with the passengers and didn’t just drop off and say “don’t be late “ So my advice here is don’t ask for Amanda If all you need is to be left on your own with a time to regroup then she is your guide. But I would have preferred more interaction and communication from a guide

I thought we would get more information about what all there was to see at each stop. The guide just told us very quickly what was there and kind of pointed at what direction things were so make sure you research each place before you go because you don’t get a lot of time at each place (1-2 hours) so if you know what you want to see you won’t waste any time trying to figure out what all is there and where things are located. Go ahead and study a map of the area also before you go. They do create a WhatsApp group and they email you the Google Maps link to the bus meet up place. I was so glad they did this because at two of the three stops I felt very lost and don’t know if I could’ve found the bus without that link.

Theodore was a great guide, we enjoyed seeing places around in Kyoto and Nara. Although we wished to spend more time in each stop, overall glad to have covered so many places in one day.

A very full and enjoyable day - wonderful if you have limited time to see the must-see sights in Kyoto! Saki was a fabulous guide - knowledgable and gracious. We especially liked that she provided information on the bus, but then we were free to explore at the three stops independently.

Our tour guide, Sophia, was very good. Very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Prepare for quite a bit of walking but nothing too crazy. Enjoyed feeding the deer in Nara park
