Nara Park
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City and is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. These tame creatures are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods and walk freely in Nara. Over time, these cute deers have learned to bow to visitors-a sign for a treat. For over 1,300 years, humans and deer have peacefully coexisted in Nara. Today, they are protected as Natural Monuments, and revered as holy animals in Nara.
There are around 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine, to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. The shrine is renowned for Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion red torii gates, which create a stunning and immersive tunnel-like pathway up the sacred Mount Inari. In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family, and the fulfillment of all other wishes.

Amy is knowledgeable and friendly. The tour goes to three locations with all of the places listed. They are all busy locations with lots of tourists.

We did this tour on New Years Day 2026. Surprisingly there were a lot of people on this tour. Amy our tour guide kept everything and everyone running on time/schedule. She was very informative and her bubbly nature kept us all with a smile on our face. Nara was good - though we have heaps of deer in Australia. We loved Arashiyama and the bamboo forest. Would of liked more time here to do the whole walk. Fushimi Inari Taisha and the red Tori Gates were amazing. Once again would like to go back here and walk the whole path. All in all it was a fantastic tour and would definitely recommend Amy as your tour guide.

A great way to see both Nara Park and Kyoto as first timers. We had tons of fun feeding the deers in Nara Park and enjoyed the beauty of Fushimi Inari Taisha and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Our tour guide Willa was great. Willa was giving us fun facts and tips, while answering any questions we would have. Would recommend this tour. Pick up was very close to our hotel which was a plus.

Very well coordinated. Our tour guide, Fiona was very informative on local attractions and our driver, Yamada, ensured we got to each itinerary location smoothly. Blessed with good weather, but still dress warmly as areas with higher altitudes can get colder.
