Nara Park
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City and is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. These tame creatures are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods and walk freely in Nara. Over time, these cute deers have learned to bow to visitors-a sign for a treat. For over 1,300 years, humans and deer have peacefully coexisted in Nara. Today, they are protected as Natural Monuments, and revered as holy animals in Nara.
Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates)
There are around 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine, to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. The shrine is renowned for Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion red torii gates, which create a stunning and immersive tunnel-like pathway up the sacred Mount Inari. In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family, and the fulfillment of all other wishes.

This 9 hours tour is touching 3 main areas of Kyoto and Nara that are "must see" once in Kyoto. The lovely guide Amy gave us much more than simple explanations, she gave us a lot of small but very useful tips for better orientation, from locations to what we could expect to find in the areas such as typical food, snacks, candy etc (and always in generic way, without asking us to visit specific shops). since the visited areas are huge. If you don't have time to plan these visits by yourself this tour is a great way for a one-day in Kyoto. Last but not least, you can chose this tour also as transfer fro Osaka to Kyoto or Kyoto to Osaka. Amy also suggested the best places to take pictures and selfies. Thanks to Amy for the great day!

Charles was an excellent guide and the trip had a little bit of everything for our daughter, my husband, and me. Nara park was great for the friendly deer, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest area was a great stop for eating/shopping/seeing the bamboo forest, and the Thousand Torii Gates were picturesque. My daughter loved the super Kawaii San-X themed stores (Miffy Bakery, Rilakkuma Cafe, and Chiikawa store). My husband and I liked seeing multiple beautiful Kyoto landmarks in one day. I would suggest not to bother with the deer crackers since you can still pet the deer and the deer are bit aggressive trying to get the crackers. It was crazy hot and we all enjoyed ourselves thanks to our lovely guide and clear communication throughout. Excellent tour.

This full one-day experience covered a little bit of everything. We did shrines, the thounsand-gates, the bowing dears in Nara, etc. Sofia, our tour guide was the most accommodating and kind. She gave us all the information we needed and let us do the attraction at our leisure so we could go at our own pace. We truly enjoyed the day-experience.
