Nara Park
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City and is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. These tame creatures are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods and walk freely in Nara. Over time, these cute deers have learned to bow to visitors-a sign for a treat. For over 1,300 years, humans and deer have peacefully coexisted in Nara. Today, they are protected as Natural Monuments, and revered as holy animals in Nara.
There are around 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine, to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. The shrine is renowned for Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion red torii gates, which create a stunning and immersive tunnel-like pathway up the sacred Mount Inari. In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family, and the fulfillment of all other wishes.

Christine and Mr. Henry were amazing! She is super friendly and a great host, and despite us being late one stop she was not rude at all!

Very rushed experience. Tour guide was very nice, but she had too many people to herd (IMO). She spent all of her time explaining where to be and when, but did not offer cultural or historic references. Was expecting some context to the experience. My bad. Was told we would be dropped in Osaka at train station, but tour guide left us with non English speaking driver, who let us out on a busy street behind station and we were lost as to where to go in this chaotic city. We figured it out, but we did feel nervous, and somewhat mislead as per Osaka drop off. Overall more of a transfer than a tour.

Our family enjoyed an excellent tour of Kyoto today. Our guide Christine was superb. She gave us very clear directions and instructions and also helped my daughter rent a kimono for the day. Driver Mr Sugihara was very good as well.

I had a wonderful tour with Christine as my tour guide, and this tour was an excellent value overall. The itinerary was really well balanced—you get to see a good number of spots, but there are also breaks in between to relax on the bus, which I appreciated. One of my favorite stops was Nara Deer Park. While I did get head-butted by the deer more than a few times (they are very bold 😅), it was still a fun and memorable experience. I also loved that we visited an area with great shopping by the Bamboo Forest and there was plenty of time to grab snacks if you wanted. Another big bonus was that they dropped me off in Kyoto afterward (at the last stop), which worked perfectly with my travel plans. One tip: be sure to bring cash, as many places still require it. Overall, this tour offers great value, thoughtful pacing, and a fantastic guide. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, enjoyable way to see multiple spots in a single day.
