Braastad Cognac

Ideally located in Jarnac on the banks of the Charente, the TIFFON establishments invite you to discover its exceptional heritage within an emblematic building. Founded in 1875, explore the authenticity of an independent family house whose production secrets have been passed down for 6 generations. The House is run by the Braastad family and runs the estate in a traditional way by being an actor from the vine to the glass. Immerse yourself in the secrets of cognac manufacturing through the different stages of production: history, know-how, distillation. This dive into the heart of cognac will take you to our cellars and introduce you to the art of aging and blending. Finally, after a visit to our cabinet of curiosities, the experience ends with the tasting. We present our iconic cognacs from the 3 reference categories: VS, VSOP, XO to better understand the different facets of cognac. *Tasting reserved for adults.

What a pleasure to have made this visit alongside Erik! This guide is exceptional and has passed on all the know-how and history of these magnificent houses. This visit really deserves the detour and makes live an experience in small committee which is very pleasant. What can be said about the tasting which is very pleasant, varied and made with spirit! Fantastic personalised tour by Erik. He was very engaging and knowledgeable, even managing to keep our two teenage daughters interested in the cognac process! Would highly recommend, much more personable than the larger cognac houses.

This is an excellent tour from the history through to the tasting Our Guide today was Eric and he was an amazing ambassador. It was interesting and we got to be part of all the steps of the process of making cognac. Bravo! A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in the Cognac area! Thanks!

Excellent and insightful tour. Eric was a fantastic guide who showed us the history and detail of the distillery etc and led an informative and fun tasting. This tour is much more personal and interesting than the larger houses.

A wonderful day. Personal tour of Erik in Norwegian which was very educational and informative. We learned a lot. A relaxed and humorous atmosphere that will definitely lure us to a stay at Braastad Castle when it becomes ready next year as a “hotel” / representation establishment. 4 gentle people from Sarpsborg/Fredrikstad.
