Dublin Literary Pub Crawl
On this tour that's as educational as it is recreational, you'll embark on an animated and entertaining journey through the sights and sounds that inspired great Irish writers including James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, Brendan Behan, Sean O'Casey, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde and W.B. Yeats - not forgetting modern scribes like Seamus Heaney, Eavan Boland, Paula Meehan and Brendan Kennelly. Kicking off at the Duke Pub on Duke Street, this literary pub crawl will take you to famous pubs and haunts while actors recite verses from the best Irish literature. You can sink a pint while learning about the lives of these great writers and hear some of the hilarious stories that became folklore in Dublin's literary circles. The two guys who did our tour were very entertaining, very engaging and fun. Also very good actors! They took us thru 4 different pubs which were very cool but very crowded. We could never find a seat and the amount of people is crazy! Every pub is extremely packed so be mindful if this is what you like. And of course this is out of control of the couple of hosts/actors who did an amazing job taking us thru different points of central Dublin and sharing their great knowledge of arts. We absolutely recommend this tour. Good introduction to Dublin’s pub culture.

Great tour with very knowledgeable guides. Love the pub stops along the way. Great way to learn about some Irish lit and get lit at the same time

Great performances. These guys were fantastic, entertaining, and full of craic. A little trivia too. Good pub choices and I learned a lot.

Fun, informative and friendly. This tour was great. I don't know much about Irish literary history but I didn't need to. It was very interesting and I won the quiz! I also made some friends on the tour, which is always great when you are solo travelling. The choice of pubs was also fantastic!

What an enjoyable experience! Absolutely recommend this tour to those who both love Dublin and its wonderful pubs but who have an interest in the inspiring writers of Ireland . Colm brought the writings and history of these writers to life . The back drop of Dublin, the very beautiful Trinity college and the charming atmospheric pubs all added to the walk. Personally I loved the mention too, of some of my favourite modern day authors , particularly Claire Keegan and the shout out for the best book shop in Dublin …Hodges Figgis . Thank you very much Colm , a super couple of hours . I am inspired to find out more ……

Our guide was spectacular! Informative and fun. Our group of 11 all got to know each other over the course of 2.5 hours. Don’t miss the very last stop to see the first edition Ulysses at Davy Byrnes. We even got to chat w the owner about some fascinating history.

What a great way to explore pub culture through the lens of the famous Irish literary tradition. We enjoyed our hosts John and Colum very much, as they walked us through legendary pubs and other notable stops such as Trinity College and St. Andrews Church. The small format made it easy to make friends with other travelers as well, which was an added bonus.

The pub crawl is a unique experience in literary journey of Ireland in relation to its pubs where much of these mastpieces were created by Samuel Beckkett, James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, G B Shaw and others. Great performance by the duo who walk you through the pubs.
