Trou aux Cerfs
Begin your 7-8 hours southwest scenic tour with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet & be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. You'll be heading to Trou Aux Cerfs which is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius. The dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters & a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike the typical volcanic features, Trou aux Cerfs’ crater is surrounded by a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species and some giant green pine trees. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Definitely, one of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of the town, Curepipe & the majestic view of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range.
Afterward, heading to Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir which has the honor of being the largest reservoir on the island with a capacity of almost 26 million cubic meters and is simultaneously a rather popular stop for tourists visiting the south of the island. Although nothing as fancy as the other attractions in Mauritius, Mare aux Vacoas is a gem hidden between lines of thick forests. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few minutes away from the usual hustle and bustle of the country. The reservoir even offers a rather amazing view worth several clicks.

Do you know what, the weather wasn’t perfect, we had a bit of rain, but our driver Manav was brilliant. Information about Mauritius, thoughtful about customers and a good laugh. Had great banter, so much so, used him as a taxi service on his none working day. Casela is excellent, the Falls and Black River Gorge are beautiful.

Poor communication at the start. Messaged when we first booked the tour that we would have luggage coming off the cruise ship and wanted to ensure we could be accommodated to be dropped off at our lodgings after the tour. The night before, told we would be in a standard vehicle, a little vague if our luggage could be accommodated. Driver shows up surprised about our luggage and proceeds to complain throughout the tour about the third party operator who took our reservation. Safari is more like an open zoo than a true safari. Hyena was pacing which indicates maladaptive behavior in captivity which means Casela Park does a poor job with environmental enrichment. Roller coaster was broken when we were there, later up and running but we had no time left at the park and told no refunds. Lunch arrangement was satisfactory. Overall, tour hit most of the basic points, but somewhat underwhelming experience

Geevs was our Driver for a great transfer day from our cruise to the airport in Mauritius. We had to shorten the regular itinerary for the day because we lingered at Casela Animal Park too long. But it was worth it because we could participate in the Lion Encounter. We walked, sat, petted, and watched the two big cats there. Fabulous! Then he took us to a local restaurant for an included lunch and delivered us safely and quickly to the Airport. He also told us many facts about the people, religions, industry, and history of this beautiful island. We highly recommend this great service.

Great day, which was made so much better by our tour guide. Lavi was friendly, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. Lunch at Ebony Table D'Hote was delicious. We have never had a better curry and were fascinated by the the way it was served, with traditional sides. We did find we could have seen more of the safari park....unfortunately we lost valuable time there because we were sent to the wrong location (by safari staff) to catch the rollercoaster ride and had to walk for 15 minutes back across the park or we would have missed the ride we had booked. Just one of those things! Rollercoaster was fantastic!!! Would advise reading up on the park and studying its map before arrival because there is so much to see in the three hours allotted. Lavi, thank you. One of the best days of our holiday and we valued everything you showed and taught us. You are a credit to your company.
