What To Expect
Enjoy dinner around the crackling fire in the tipi just outside the beautiful Máttaráhkká Lodge. During the dinner, we can sometimes snap great photos of the northern lights since the lodge and the tipi are away from most of the light pollution. Through the dark night, you will be driving easy maneuver snowmobiles and experiencing the true Lapland dream on unique "off-the-map trails". On top of the mountain, we serve hot beverages and wait for the Northern Lights to show up and dance for us in the night sky. The guide will take photographs of you, hopefully with a backdrop of amazing lights. Dinner is included in the tour and will be served in the tipi before or after the tour, depending on the aurora activity. Note: The driver needs to have a valid driving license. 2.00Took the tour on the night of 4 March 2024. The entire tour was great. We were also lucky that the sky cleared up and our group caught a glimpse of the northern lights. Our guide helped everyone take photos which we were all looking forward to receiving via email. We were told it would be sent to us the day after. It’s been almost a month. The photos are not sent and no one is responding to the multiple queries. Frankly quite disappointing for the price paid for the tour. Could have been great. Would appreciate at least a response even if the photos might be gone instead of being ghosted.
Great fun but unfortunately no northern lights!

5.00Very nice evening. First, we had supper in a tepee, around a fire. Then we went by snowmobile (about 60 minutes each way) to the mountain. Unfortunately, the weather was Covered and snowing. We already knew before we left that we would not see the Northern Lights. But we always had a small hope... The snowmobile ride was beautiful! I hope one day I can return to Lapland to see the Northern Lights!

5.00At the beginning there was a very delicious dinner. After that we started with the snowmobiles and were so lucky that after a short time we could see the Aurora and took a photo break. Once on the mountain we had a superb view of the Northern Lights. The guides were very friendly and fun, which made us have a great evening. Thank you very much!!!

5.00Amazing experience!!!! This was the highlight of our trip to Kiruna! Our guide went above and beyond to provide us with an outstanding evening, including pickup/drop off, delicious reindeer stew dinner and snowmobile tour. We didn’t expect to see the aurora as it was very cloudy that night, but our guide went above and beyond for us and was very patient at the top of the mountain. We did end up seeing the lights and it was an incredible sight. Our guide took beautiful photos and explained more about the area. We had a great night full of interesting conversation and fun! So happy we booked this experience and fully recommend to anyone visiting. Excellent!!! 😊 We are excited to see the photos!
