Circuit: Explore most of Machu Picchu, including the iconic viewpoint for the classic photo. The most complete and popular route.
1C: Inti Punku
Circuit: 3.4 km hike to the emblematic gate of the Inca Trail with unique views of Machu Picchu. → Physical effort: Moderate.
1A: Machu Picchu Mountain
Circuit: Climb Machu Picchu Mountain for spectacular panoramic views on a 3.8 km (2 hour) hike. → Physical effort: High.
1B: Upper Terrace
Circuit: Explore the Keeper's House and capture panoramic photos on a short 1-hour tour. Allows a stay of up to 4 hours.
3D: Huchuy Picchu Mountain
Circuit: Moderate 1.7 km hike with panoramic views from the summit and access to temples and terraces. → Physical effort: Moderate.
1D: Inca Bridge Route
Circuit: Visit the Guardian's House for a panoramic photo and walk to the historic Inca Bridge. → Physical effort: Moderate.

5.00My parents came to visit me in Peru this week and it was a must that we came to Machu Picchu. We did Circuit 1 which was a great view of the ruins. Our tour guide Lizandro was very informative and we learned a lot. I would highly reccomend coming to see this beautiful site and using a guide in your native language.

4.00I would not buy tickets through Trip Advisor again for Machu Picchu. They do not specify that there are three different circuits (hiking areas) for Machu Picchu. You need tickets to include all of them. This was just for Circuit 1. We were allowed to enter Circuit 2 after talking to the staff and upgrading. We bought tickets for the second day from the Ministerio de Cultura right next to the square in Aguas Calientes. They explained everything well to us. I speak Spanish, but they also spoke English. Highly recommend this route over buying them online.
