Not only do you have the best chance of seeing a Sri Lankan leopard, but you also have a very high chance of seeing elephants. We went during a period of time that Yala national park was experiencing a mini-drought. This meant that the elephants were further inside the park around the permanent lakes and not need the main roads. Even then, we still managed to spot a lone male grazing in amongst the trees. If you go to Yala when there are not experiencing a drought then you will certainly see herds of elephants roaming around the park in plain sight.

We were able to leave on time. The driver was very kind and rough, but he drove politely. We enjoyed the Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Spring tour and also we were very happy to see the animals. It was a half-day tour, but just the right length.

Such a fun experience, my guide Sirantha and Driver Sasanka were friendly , knowledgeable and very skilled at finding the right areas and manoeuvring the vehicle to get the best view. We saw many Deer , buffalo and countless birds aswell as 2 Crocodiles. 2 seperate encounters with leopards, but the highlight was the Elephants which we were lucky enough to see a total of 6 including some baby elephants , Sasanka was able to get us very close with an amazing view while still keeping a safe distance, amazing experience and very skilled driver. These guys made my trip 5 stars.

Our driver was a true expert of the Yala park, could listen to the sounds of different animals, especially leopards, spot footprints, and animals when other drivers nearby, or next to us did not see anything!!! Result was to have a close and personal view of one leopard for quite a few minutes, see another one sleeping on a tree and heard a third one, but did not get to see. Amazing experience, along with all other animals sighted, great info shared and a wonderful company!
