  Wow! Raea's Taxi and Guided Tour is excellent!! Loa gave us a private tour of the island that was outstanding. We had a fantastic day, even though it rained off and on. We visited the blow holes, went somewhere nearby to a beautiful location for snorkeling, saw fishing pigs, visited the caves, and much more. We could have stayed longer, but we only had a day. Loa was interesting to talk to - he knows about the history, ecology, and current events of the island. He also took us to a great local place to eat. I can't say enough about the awesome experience we had. Thank you, Gayle and Mark

  Fabulous full day with Loa. He answered a million of our questions about Tonga, was engaging and a great spokesperson for the island and its culture. You will see all the highlights of this beautiful island.

  Great tour with alot to see. Luckily, we had amazing weather too. Hot but actually felt cool b/c of the wind. Bus is not air conditioned but again, felt good with the breeze. There were 12 in total all of us coming from a cruise. Port pickup was much appreciated. We did have to cut out Captain Cook's stop which most of us wanted to see but everyone didn't want to cut it too close getting back to the ship. Another tour offered thru the cruise actually hit all the sites we did plus captain cook b/c they started at 8:30. We started at 9:30 and this part is the one thing that could be organized better. The description had a 9:30 start time. Everyone came down much earlier. But we were waiting for 2 last couples. 1 said they were just sitting in their cabins and arrived 8:50. The last couple we waited until 9:25 but turns out, they were already on the bus. So there definitely could be some improvement around the times. Our tour guide said there was a note for cruise passengers to come down earlier. But what they should provide is a specific time vs something this vague. Anyhoo, Loa, our guide, was awesome. Excellent english, friendly, and fun. How often can you say that! OMG the watermelon he brought totally spoilt us. We thought the ship's was great but not anymore.

  

  

  

• The perfect way to experience Tonga

  I did a full island tour of Tongatapu today with Loa and it was honestly one of the highlights of my time in Tonga. He’s a local Tongan, super friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. We covered the whole island and he shared so much history, culture, and local insight along the way. It never felt rushed, just easy and enjoyable. He took me to all the must-see spots and even went out of his way to stop at two different places to find ʻota ika. The tour felt really personal, informative, and relaxed. If you’re coming to Tonga and want to truly experience the island through a local’s knowledge and stories, book with Loa.   Loa was very friendly and kind. He took time to answer everyone’s questions and provided lots of information. While the tour was scheduled for five hours, Loa took extra time to show us all the sights and we still got back to the cruise ship in time for the departure. We definitely recommend Loa for a tour of Tongatapu.

  Tonga is beautiful. There are so many different sorts of things to see- blowholes and beaches, pigs and palaces, caves and coconut trees with plenty of time at each of the many stops to wander round and drink it all in. Loa was a fantastic companion and guide, very supportive of my speed capacity, with lots of information, food, and good humour. I learnt a lot covering all sorts of subjects and had a delightfully relaxed time. You couldn't wish for more.

  What an amazing trip, would recommend to anyone who wants to see a lot of Tonga in one day. Loa took me all over the island and explained all the history and answered any questions I had. I felt safe as a solo female traveller and would definitely do again if I came back. Thanks Loa!

  This was incredible! Loa knew absolutely everything about Tongatapu and he left no stone unturned. The lead up to the tour included clear booking information and we were in clear communication regarding the pick-up details etc. On the day, Loa was insistent that we take as much time as we need at each stop. He never rushed us, let us swim at different beaches/Anahulu cave, provided coconut and watermelon from street vendors for an authentic experience and literally went to every single tourist destination on the island- more than the ones listed on the itinerary. The tour even went for an hour longer than anticipated- it became more of a car ride with friends as he detoured from the set course at the request and agreement of us on the tour. Loa’s local knowledge was priceless. He provided a comprehensive run-through of different periods of history, superstition and folklore from the island and great travel tips and tricks. I would 100% recommend this experience as a way to see the whole island and pick out bits you would like to visit longer at a later time. As a side note, Loa speaks fluent english and Tongan and therefore provides a great mediation between the locals and tourists. The car is a van/taxi that was very comfortable and easy to travel in for the duration of the tour. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel and was just generally an awesome guy. We encountered a couple of other taxi tour groups along the way and they didnt seem to be as professional or polished as this one. Book this tour! You won’t regret it.
