When I do Matcha Calligraphy, I remember Master Calligrapher of her grand farther, who influenced me. And, I remember the tea garden around my grandfather's calligraphy room. I feel I'm in security and with love. It seems to be entering the "silence/zen" time. It is sometimes as an opportunity to look at yourself.
I hope that Matcha Calligraphy will be one thing
to know "Matcha", "Green tea" and "Japan." and many people experience and feel the beauty of "Matcha Calligraphy ®"

① You can make your own hanging scroll in a short time. It will be a good and memorable souvenir which you will want to keep forever. ②You will get your name in Kanji characters. You will learn to create your name by using Kanji characters that suit your personality. Because Kanji characters have different meanings, your scroll will be uniquely unlike any other. ③Master of Calligraphy, who has teaching experience in the U.S., will instruct. Atmosphere is traditional and relaxing, located just behind Sensoji temple. You can have a unique fun and exciting cultural experience in Japan! 5.00I joined Shoran's calligraphy session with my two kids at Maruzen Tea Roastery, only a few minutes from Shizuoka Station. The setting was calm and inspiring, surrounded by the aroma of tea. Shoran is a wonderful teacher. She patiently guided us through the brush strokes and shared insights that made shodō feel approachable yet meaningful. She also talked about her favorite spots in Shizuoka, making the whole experience feel personal and connected to the local culture. The pace was perfect for both adults and children. We ended with a cup of green tea for me and matcha shaved ice for the kids, which felt like the sweetest way to close our time together. This was more than a class. It was a chance to slow down, connect, and experience a piece of Japanese tradition in a memorable way. Thank you Shoran!

5.00The Matcha Calligraphy with Shoran was wonderful. There were four of us (two couples) and we all had a very relaxing and enjoyable time learning calligraphy. She is a very patient teacher and gave us alternate ways to work through the issues we were having with painting.
