Excellent in every way! Daisy and her sous were outstanding and the three dishes we prepared were delicious. The initial market tour was amazing and very informative. Overall, can’t recommend more highly.

I recently attended a cooking class at Food Playground Singapore, and it was honestly one of the most enjoyable food experiences I’ve had in the city. Our instructor, YY, was the heart of the class. She was incredibly kind, warm, and gracious, creating an atmosphere that felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. Her instructions were clear, patient, and thoughtfully explained, making the class approachable even for those with little cooking experience. She has a very calm, lovely way of teaching; never rushed, always encouraging and she made sure everyone felt confident and included throughout the session. The class was extremely hands-on, which made it both fun and memorable. We prepared Nasi Lemak from scratch, including the sambal, and it really deepened my appreciation for how much care and balance goes into this iconic dish. From cooking the fragrant coconut rice to layering flavors in the sambal, every step felt purposeful and rewarding. The final result was incredibly satisfying , aromatic, and deeply comforting. We also made Kueh Dadar, which was such a joy. Rolling the pandan-infused crepes and filling them with the sweet, fragrant coconut mixture was both meditative and fun. The kueh turned out soft, fragrant, and perfectly balanced sweet, just right. What stood out most was how delicious everything tasted at the end. There’s something special about eating food you’ve made yourself, especially when guided so well. The entire experience felt authentic, thoughtfully curated, and genuinely joyful. If you’re looking for a cooking class in Singapore that’s educational, warm, and truly enjoyable, I can’t recommend Food Playground enough especially if you get the chance to learn from YY.

We spend the full morning learning about local dishes, and preparing them. And then, of course, we consumed the meal. The class was very professionally and energetically led. We had great fun, and we were well supported during the preparation. And, BTW, it tasted great.
