MWABONWA offers the only way to authentically experience Zambia, through my people & rich culture. We take you beyond the tourist attractions and invite you to be our guest in our providences & homes, where you can experience our Zambian life style as a local.

Dinner
Bring your appetite to experience traditional Zambian dining with my family and friends. We will enjoy a full dinner with starters, a main course, dessert, and beverages along with warm fellowship. The experience will include: 1. Receive a hearty Mwaboonwa Cultural Experience Welcome. 2. Learn & exchange greetings in several Zambian languages, we have over 72. 3. Learn about our mealtime, eating customs & etiquette. 4. Assist with setting the table or meal area. 5. Take part in our traditional hand-washing ceremony. 6. Share in a Traditional Zambian Dining experience with the Locals. Dinner is a significant part of our culture as it is special time to set around to enjoy family and friends. We have many types of local relish dishes in Africa that are paired with our staple food, nshima, including village chicken, beef stew, kapenta small fish, pumpkin leaves in peanut sauce, beans, chikanda African polony, caterpillars, impwa garden eggs, dried & fresh local fruits plus many more. Our meals are shared and served family style, communal; and are traditionally eaten with the right hand without silverware. Please come share with us!

This was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone. The hospitality and After a short walk from town, we were welcomed into Sophia and her family's beautiful home where we were greeted with local drinks and introductions. We were immediately made to feel at home. After we had finished our drinks, we were taken of a tour of the house and given some background of what Mwabonwa Experiences meant, how it was started and how it was supporting the local community. We then sat down to eat the most delicious meal- nshima, pumpkin leaves with groundnuts, stewed beef and beans- and were shown how to eat correctly. We spent time swapping stories and learning about how local life really is in the town. We were also able to rearrange the date to fit our schedule by contacting Sophia and explaining. The most memorable part of my trip by far!

Firstly, we mistook the date for another and the woman who organises was kind enough to reschedule the day after. Her and a daughter of hers picked us up from town, and walked to her village while learnt many things about her life, culture etc. In her house, live 12 people, she made us visit, wash our hands, meet everyone. The drinks and food where the best meal we ate all week. Better than our hotel, or than what we ate at Limpos or Cafe Zambezi. Really good food, good atmosphere, you eat with your hands, sitting on the floor. Great stuff.
