The knowledgeable local guide will guide you through the lava flow from the eruption 100 years ago and talk about the lives of the people who still live on Sakurajima and the local specialties that hold a Guinness World Record. At the end of the tour, we will take a bus up to the observatory closest to the crater for a spectacular view. Visitors can experience the symbiosis between nature and humans where people live in an active volcano that is still active today.

Sakurajima Visitor Center
After watching a 15-minute video, the guide will give a brief overview of Sakurajima along with the exhibits in the center.
Sakurajima Nagisa Foot Bath Park
At Nagisa Park adjacent to the Visitor Center, visitors can soak in a footbath and enjoy the hot springs blessed by the volcano and the magnificent view.

5.00We had a wonderful time exploring Sakurajima with our guide Shinju! He was so knowledgeable about the geology and history of the area. He was kind and personable and gave us plenty of time to explore. This volcano is fascinating. The tour was well organized and covered each of the important spots in just a few hours. Our expectations were exceeded in all areas. Excellent value for the price.
