We offer robust fat tire e-bikes which are perfectly suited for the gravel terrain of Acadia's Carriage Roads, providing ample comfort and stability. These automobile-free roads offer intimate access to Jordan Pond House, Eagle Lake, Day Mountain, the Rockefeller bridges, and much more. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as: Bald Eagles, Deer, Porcupine, and Beavers (ask our staff where to find their homes). Our four hour rentals allow adventurers and families alike to comfortably explore 20-30 miles of the park. To ensure you get the most out of your trip, we will provide a map guide and share our personal recommendations along with easy to follow directions to the trails.

What To Expect
YOU MUST ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO RENTAL TIME. For riders at least 18 years old or 16+ with adult supervision, we offer half-day rentals that include helmets and reliable long-range batteries that will allow you to explore more and exert less energy. During your excursion, you are welcome to utilize our lightweight backpacks and detailed maps. Help yourself to complimentary water bottles and rain ponchos. We love Acadia and are enthusiastic about sending you out on the trails with route recommendations and a local's perspective. We are excited to continue upholding our highly reputable brand. Our expertise as Registered Maine Guides grants us the knowledge to add additional safety benefits, such as first aid kits, safety briefings, and detailed maps. 5.00Had an amazing time on our e-bike ride. We did a lot of hiking the first two days of our visit and wrapped it up with a bike ride around Eagle Lake and Jordan Pond. What a relaxing way to experience the carriage roads. Maine State Kayak and E-bike rates were very reasonable.

5.00Seriously…book this company! Just like you, I was worried about the fat tires making it harder to bike the trails. We flew past so many people and it was so much safer having the wider tires. The communication from the company is outstanding. Extremely kind and helpful

5.00Prior to the day of our ride, Maria gave me great info about the bike and assured me I could ride it even though I am 4'11". On the day of the ride, Iz gave me a private lesson on controlling the bike. Then our private guide, Ian, led us thru Acadia and our ride was fabulous. He was great!! The leaves were beautiful. This was the best part of my trip!

5.00Maine State was so organized and provided great equipment for our e-bike rental. Instructions were clear. Staff was so nice. The carriage trails were awesome - zero cars allowed, perfectly safe. The only thing that was little hard to get the handle of was that initially, the fat tire e-bikes take a little getting used to. When leaving bike shop at the start of the trip, there is a little bit of traffic, so get used to your bike in the parking lot. When you leave the shop and head to the park, you go uphill and need to give it some juice to climb. Overall, such a great experience. I am so glad we did this. Thank you!

5.00Awesome experience riding the RAD fat tire e-bikes through Acadia! Great location, super friendly staff that answered all of our questions with a friendly positive attitude. Bikes were easy to use and we rarely used the pedal assist on 4 or 5 even on the steepest hills on the carriage roads. Wife and I wanted another hour or two to explore some other paths but we had other stuff to do in Acadia that day. Highly recommend this company!!!

5.00We rented bikes in town and took them to Acadia Park from there. The route to Acadia was very well defined from the business to Acadia park and rode along the carriage path. The staff was very inviting and showed a few videos of how to ride the bikes and how to navigate the signs through the park. Saved us a lot of money renting from them versus inside the park. I would highly recommend them!

5.00My husband and I loved riding e-bikes on the carriage roads. It was a great way to see more of the park. Rent from Maine State! The staff was friendly, helpful and easy going. They loan backpacks if you don’t have one in addition to renting helmets. 4 hours was the perfect amount of time. Highly recommend!
