Spend an exciting day in Fukuoka with your host and explore Japan’s gateway to Asia together. Take in some of the city’s main sites, like Fukuoka Castle or follow your feet to an obscure neighborhood. Take some time out to enjoy a meal at a yakai (street food stand) - we’d recommend the Hakata ramen, because well, it’s simply the best.

Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

Hakata Station

Fukuoka city’s biggest station, Hakata, has become more than just a point for travel. The station stands at 10 stories high with floors filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. Taiyo was a fun guide and we introduced him to 'geocaching'. He kept the chatter to only when there was something worth dicussing or looking at - which was great for us. We went to temples outside Fukuoka and included the Tenmangu shrine and then back to the city canal areas

Masumi Endo was EXCELLENT. She was in contact with us via e-mail before the trip and was punctual, knowledgeable and flexible regarding itinerary on day of trip. We basically went on a FOOD tour of the city that was SO tasty and fun! On her own time, she came back with us on the subway at the "end of the tour time" to make sure that we got off at the right stop. Above and beyond the call of duty! Highly recommend.
