Or snorkelling on the other side to the sprawling, colourful coral reef, full of blooming corals, millions of colourful fish and gentle, friendly sea turtles, but even dolphins are not rare guests here!

Nosy Be
The trip starts with a motorboat ride lasting approximetly 2 hours. Departing from Nosy Be, we will pass along the coast of Madagascar's main island and past several small rocky or coral islands vovered by dense jungle. If we are lucky, we will meet dolphin families and turtles along the way. And on arrival in Iranja, we begin our visit to paradise on Earth.
Nosy Iranja
Nosy Iranja is truly a unique place of unearthly beauty! On arrival, guests are usually speechless by the stunning scenery and atmosphere. It is a natural wonder unlike any other in the world. Iranja is an island that at high tide is divided into two islands (small and large Iranja), which at low tide are joined by a magnificent, wide snow-white sandbar. On our day trip, you can enjoy the snow-white coral sands of Iranja and the supernatural beauty of the coastline. We take a short jungle walk to the island's lighthouse, designed by Gustave Eiffel. You can enjoy snorkeling, sunbathing on the snow white sandbar out to your liking. On one side the fine soft coral sand stretches hundreds of meters into the azure blue ocean, on the other side there is a sprawling coral reef with an abundance of sea turtles and a cavalcade of colourful fish. At Iranja, we are guests of the indigenous village, where we are served a real Malagasy lunch in the shade of the village's coconut palms.

Still the same pleasure to discover this island you never tire of, beautiful magic, still authentic? For how much longer?? certainly the most beautiful island in the area, but god it's far, at least 3 hours round trip, very tiring.....

While we had a good time, the experience isn’t as advertised. You get put on a boat with another 20ish people (and locals using the boat for their commute). If you book an experience once you are already in Nosy Be, you can get the same thing for half the price (if not cheaper). I had been informed once I had booked that the boat was shared but we’d have our private cool box (which we did) and a private guide (who turned out to be the guide for the whole boat). We kept telling ourselves given the drinks inclusions it was still worth it, but in reality we were given 4 small beers and then some water. No coco punch or flavoured rums as advertised. We had also booked the transfer from and to the hotel and while it was nice to be transported back straightaway at the end of the experience, our pick up was so early that we had to wait at the local beach for an hour until everyone else arrived, surrounded by locals who insisted on selling you stuff. The snorkelling equipment isn’t included with the booking, so we added it on for €5/person, but mines was broken, so the disappointment was great. So, while Nosy Iranja was definitely worth a visit and the guide tried his best to be accommodating, I wouldn’t recommend this tour and would advise to either go through your hotel or book with a smaller local tour operator once you arrive (i.e. Aldo Mada-Tours).

The guides were nice. We brought our kids and the island was beautiful and lunch was great. Side note there’s plenty of food but don’t expect chicken unless you ask. Not an issue for us since there was so much other food but just something to note. We opted for the private boat ride which was perfect for us since our kids are boaters. It is a long and bumpy ride for someone with any mobility issues. Overall we would do it again and highly recommend!

Nosy Iranja – The jewel of the Malagasy islands Located about 1.5 hours by boat from Nosy Be, Nosy Iranja, nicknamed “Turtle Island”, is a true tropical paradise. Connected by a nearly two kilometre long white sandbar, the two islands of Iranga Be and Iranga Kely offer a natural spectacle of exceptional beauty, especially at low tide when the sand connects the two islets. The crystal clear turquoise waters surrounding the island invite swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving, where you can admire colorful corals, tropical fish and sometimes even sea turtles coming to lay eggs on the beach. Visitors can also discover the traditional fishing village on the largest island, sample delicious local seafood cuisine, or simply relax on the warm sand enjoying the calm and nature.

This place is beautiful and well worth a visit in addition to the boat ride... However we were only allowed water and beer and in limited quantity... Contrary to what is indicated, no Malagasy Coco punch, no Malagasy rums flavored with fruit or other, and no snacks... The meal was simple and semi Malagasy - For information my friend is Malagasy - And shared with other visitors (same dishes shared)... Otherwise I would have put 5, so it's expensive for the proposed service, it's better to go through premises with a boat

The tour was not private at all. You have a private guide but was also not private. You are with a group of 20 people waiting in the boat and island. The guide was a really good Guy and the food on the island was very good. Only the service of fossa travel is a bit of a scam. They should put on the advertising private guide and not tour! Also dont take their taxi it cost 14 euro. ASK for location of the boat and take a tuktuk for 2 euro.

It was a great tour to a beautiful island. Our German-speaking travel companion guided us well through the day and was super sweet! We really enjoyed the day and can only recommend it!

The destination is breath take once you arrive. Aqua turquoise warm waters. However the 2 hour boat trip is physically trying. Not for anyone with back or neck problems. The swells are high & the boats are small making it a very bumpy ride. Something I will only do once. Stunning swimming & lazy on the beach and an opportunity to buy lovely souvenirs but take local currency with. No card machines. Very little is explained to you before leaving. When booking, a guide is given to you who has to argue his day guests onto a boat. You will be lucky to find an English speaking guide. All said..it was a worthwhile experience.
