What To Expect
Mikumi National Park
Mikumi is a jewel. Its variety of landscapes, grassy plains, woodlands, and a water hole are surrounded by three striking mountain ranges. The park is home to a wide range of animals, including lions, leopards, and hippos, to name but a few. It’s also a great place to see elephants, giraffe, impala, the rare African hunting dog and over 400 species of birds. The open space, wide skies and wonderful wildlife all contained in a relatively small area make it a perfect location for a day or two day safari. 5.00Our Mikumi safari trip with Ayo Jenga Safari Tour was truly unforgettable. from the very beginning, everything was handled with professionalism. the team made sure we feel safe, welcomed, and fully taken care of. They helped us with all our logistics, from flight tickets, train tickets, and personal drivers. our guide was knowledgeable, patient, and passionate. he spotted animals shared stories that brought the whole experience to life. we were able to see lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and so much more, and every moment felt magical.

5.00We had already visited Mikumi National Park several times on our own. But this time we booked our Safari with Ayo Jenga and it was an awesome experience! Everything was so well organised and our guide Victor was amazing! He even spotted a leopard in a tree 🐆 and gave us a lot of interesting background information. As our Safari was in December we did not expect to see too many animals, but we were wrong: lions, Buffaloes, hippos, wildebeast, giraffes, etc.. Thanks to the experience of our guide and the unforgettable night in the park we will always remember this Safari as our best Safari experience! Looking forward to book our next adventure with Ayo Jenga Safari!

5.00Even though the time of year wasn't ideal, we had an amazing, memorable experience at the park. I had never seen so many lions in one trip! Our driver, Victor, has amazing English and is so knowledgeable about the names not only of every animal, but even all the birds in the park. I brought my 12-year old son with me and he had a magical, unforgettable experience.

5.00Very well organized. Responding to our wishes. Guide was super prepared, questions answered, spontaneous ... we had a lot of fun on the safari. Thanks to Jenny who planned the tour. The highlight was also the journey by train from Dar to Morogoro ... we would do again and again.

5.00The safari was the absolute highlight of our Tanzania trip. We were a group of friends and everyone loved it. Being so close to animals was an experience that is incomparable. We had an overnight stay in Vuma Hill, a dream. Definitely recommended for every Tanzania tourist

5.00We had a wonderful time on safari with Ayo Jenga. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us lots of extra facts and information about the different animals we saw. He also engaged beautifully with our 4 year old throughout. We were taken around the park expertly and saw a huge variety of animals throughout the day. I highly recommend Ayo Jenga Safari for a truly fantastic experience.

5.00Our Driver Victor was great. Very knowledgeable about Tanzanian culture and history. Also did a great job seeking out the animals and where they were. We were able to get some great views and photos of the animals.

4.00We really enjoyed the lush green at Mikumi after all the rains. All the mammals look beautiful against it. The open car was a fun experience. But the highlight of our trip was getting to see 76 different bird species!
