My wooden cabin is unique in the island, giving people a chance to learn an ancient craft in a beautiful, natural environment. Weaving is a great way to discover your creativity and feel the joy of handmade. During this activity you will weave a project of your choice and be able to finish a unique handwoven art piece.

What‘s Included

Basic weaving instructions in print.

Tapestry frame loom with bar heddle

Yarns and weaving tools (needles, shuttle, comb etc.)

Coffee and/or Tea

Lunch is not provided, but for a full day there are cafes nearby or bring a picnic lunch.

What To Expect

Beginners & experienced weavers are welcome! Come to weave with me and have a fun & unique island experience! During approximately 3 hours, you will experience handweaving, an ancient craft, in a beautiful, natural environment. You will learn a variety of techniques on a frame loom, finishing a small wall hanging art piece or a coaster, using your choice of colours and materials. Optional Circular loom weaving is also available. A variety of handweaving looms, including rigid heddle, 4 shaft table and inkle looms can also be observed. I love teachnig and provide patient weaving instructions. If you are already a weaver or have more time and willing to weave a bigger piece like a scarf, table runner, placemat or cushion cover, please send a message.

What a sweet time we had weaving on a beautiful afternoon in Terceira. Even my younger daughter who is into art had a blast creating her piece with us. It really makes you appreciate the work doing it yourself. A fun, fulfilling afternoon.

Our family had a wonderful and joyful time learning circular weaving for the first time! Inci was so patient and inspiring for us. It was an excellent way to see and explore the island in a different way.

Learning how to weave on vacation when it’s raining outside… Yes!! I made two coasters in 3 hours and was so engrossed in this, and now I’ll look into this when I get home. So much fun and Inci was a great teacher and host of this event.

Inci was so patient teaching us how to set up the loom but once we got the hang of things it was like we'd been doing weaving forever. It was so much fun. Enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Inci.

This weaving afternoon workshop was a surprise present from my husband. I had no idea where do we go and what we gonna do. I loved it. Inchi is very kind and friendly teacher. Her lovely weaving workshop in the cabin with a beautiful view and nature around offers an unforgettable experience. The weavings we made are simply the best souvenir to bring back with us. Something we have made during our travels, something what has a deaper meaning and connection.

Under Inci’s excellent tuition, even as a total beginner I made my own wall hanging. This will give me fond memories of Terceira and the panoramic views of nature and the Atlantic Ocean from the beautiful terrace. An excellent opportunity to learn about one of Terceira’s ancient crafts. I will definitely be back to learn more!

Unique experience in a beautiful nature environment. The teacher was highly experienced and passed her knowledge patiently to the student/me. I had a private lesson weaving my tapestry according to personal taste. The combination with cookies, tea and the company of the sweetest house cat made the day perfect for me. The weaving tapestry will surely get a special space in my room back in Germany :) Thank you for the lovely afternoon!
