Oedo Botania
Oedo is an island with an area of 144,998m2 located in Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. Oedo Botania is a combination of botani (plant) and toopia (paradise), which means a paradise for plants, and the entire island is adorned with gardens and arboretums. Since the island was purchased by an individual in the 1970s, the entire island has been cultivated as a garden for over 40 years. Because it is geographically located in a relatively warm climate, beautiful temperate and temperate plants are growing. It is a natural farm with a total of 3,000 species, including 740 species of rare tropical plants. It was opened for a fee in 1995, and it became famous especially as it was filmed here for K-Drama “Winter Sonata”, and it is a place where you can see beautiful scenery and flowers in all four seasons.

Remarkable Oedo Botania Island tour, with a castle, windmill and local flavor

5.00The wonderful, all day excursion began (after pick up in Busan) at Maemi castle, but was highlighted by a boat trip to, and remarkable walk about Oedo Botania Island, and its beautiful gardens, sculptures, artwork and a museum detailing its founding. A day of interesting sites, walks boat ride and a stop mid-way for tasty seafood lunch. The tour was led by Shelly, with good cheer, care and local knowledge and guided our small, international group of folks from the four corners of the Globe, in English and Mandarin. Transportation was very comfortable, including pick up and drop off at one of two locations in Busan.

5.00Our guide, Alan was AMAZING! He went above and beyond to ensure each guest had a great time! I’m physically challenged and Alan made sure I was not left out in those activities that required more of physical activity! Anyone traveling to Busan, South Korea— I highly recommend this tour!

5.00My favorite thing about this tour was the ferry ride to Oedo Botanical gardens. It was a short trip there but o t he way back it was longer and we got to sit up top outside. The views were stunning and the breeze felt good. The gardens were gorgeous, hike the entire thing if you can. The top is spectacular! There were a lot of smaller stops as well, so yiu really got to see the island of Geoje. Our guide, Alan, was wonderful. He was so kind and helpful. He helped a lady with a cane and another who didn't speak Korean or English. Lunch was delicious and inexpensive!! This was a nice relaxing day tour away from the city.

5.00This tour was incredible and so much fun! Our tour guide sherry was a ray of sunshine and so much fun to be around. She was so knowledgeable and the best photographer we could have asked for. She took so many photos of us and was an expert when it came to cute poses. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

5.00We took a full day trip with Lecirt tour company. Our guide is Sherry. She is an awesome guide, very responsive and active. One of the places we visited was Oedo Botania Island by cruise. This is a privately owned island, well manicured with plants and trees. A great place to walk and enjoy the gardens.worth visiting.

5.00This tour was absolutely amazing—both because of the breathtaking destinations and because of our incredible guide, Yonas (Joung Hyun). The scenery throughout the day was stunning. From the serene ferry ride to the islands, to the lush, beautifully maintained gardens of Oedo Botania, everything felt like a dream. The dramatic coastal views, scenic tunnels, and peaceful walking paths made it an unforgettable experience. Even lunch was a highlight—delicious and in a perfect local setting that added to the charm of the day. What made the experience even more special was Yonas. He’s an outstanding tour guide—fluent in English, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Korea. He shared so many interesting facts not just about the tour locations, but about Busan and Korea in general. He made the day enjoyable with his great sense of humor and friendly personality, always making sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. He also went out of his way to help other guests with personalized recommendations for food, activities, and places to visit in Busan. His care and attention to detail really stood out. I highly recommend this tour—and if you get Yonas as your guide, consider yourself lucky! This was one of the most beautiful and well-organized day trips I’ve ever taken.

5.00The tour was better than I expected ! Sherry was a lovely and caring tour guide which made the day very bright :) Thank you for your kindness. I went there solo but I met other nice people I could talk with easily ! The nature spots were so beautiful also, I recommend, especially for the 해금강유람선.

5.00The Geoje and Oedeo island trip from Busan is an unmissable experience. These are hidden gems of south korea, small port towns, with breathtaking scenic sea, an unforgettable cruise and one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in asia. Windy hill was an absolutely wonderful and beautiful experience as well! One can catch spectacular and heavenly views of the sea and spend some time in the lap of nature. Jack is an efficient, friendly and fantastic English speaking tour guide who made this tour even more fantastic! I highly recommend this hidden gem tour and Jack and Sherry as the guides!
First time in Busan. Island is beautiful. Family loved the views, loved the ferry ride, and recommends this tour.

5.00First time in Busan. Loved this tour. The island was beautiful. Photo opportunities in every direction. We went in February 2025. It was a sunny but chilly day. I recommend warm layered clothes with hat and gloves. The boat ferry ride was exciting. Many photo opportunities near the rock formations from boat. I recommend taking the tour in spring summer or fall to experience the full beauty of the island gardens.
