  Great tour of newly open Mayan city. Our guide, Victor, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw ruins, learned a lot, saw some exotic wildlife, and made it back to Bacalar by noon to enjoy the lagoon. Would definitely recommend.

  This was our third tour of Maya ruins during our Yucatan & Quintana Roo trip and by far the best! We already learned more on the drive to and from the ruins about Mexico, its wildlife, politics, and nature conservation than on our entire stay otherwise. Victor picked us up from our hotel at 6:30 AM and we drove an hour to Dzibanché, which is a ruin that’s currently rebuilt and will likely soon face a huge increase in visitor numbers. We had the whole area to ourselves, we climbed the ruins and admired the view while Victor told us about the history and Mayan culture. The whole time, he kept one eye on wildlife around us - we saw a monkey and a huge amount of different birds (including Toucans!). Victor had an amazing sense for where the birds are and was able to attract many of them so we could admire them through binoculars or take pictures. We can wholeheartedly recommend the experience to everyone - birder or no!

  We had such an amazing time exploring Mayan cities with Victor. He is a very knowledgeable guide and he cares so much about the wild life and supporting local communities. Victor also showed us some tropical birds on our tour. See the photo of a beautiful toucan that he took 😍. Highly recommend choosing Victor and Bacalar Ecotours as your guide!!   This is a one in a lifetime experience! The energy of this place is so special and we could not ask for a better guide. Victor is more than knowledgeable, he is passionate and it shows. The vast history of the Mayan jungle will live on for generations to come because of passionate people that care. I 10/10 recommend Victor. As others have noted there are people "blocking" the entrance to the ruins, by all means these are FRIENDLY people who want to be taken care of for passing on their land! Please respect the locals as this is more than a tour destination for them, this is their home, their land, their history, their culture and their legacy.

  Morning we were picked up by Victor at the hotel. Victor took us to a beautiful setting that he knew all about. Knew to tell all about the place and the animals that live there. Taking many pictures with Victor of the animals and the temples. Highly recommended and definitely bring a camera!

  We contacted Victor for a last minute trip for the next day. It was really easy. He picked us up at the Hotel in Chetumal in the Morning and drove us back. We felt absolutely comfortable and pleasant. His English was very good, we understood everything. Questions were answered detailed. Victor led us on a 1/2-Day-Trip to Dizibanche and Kinichna. Luckily we were able to see the Ruins without other tourists there. He brought a Backpack with several things to show, pictures and loads of knowledge in mayan history. Also he offered Mosquito-Spray and water. Viktor is really into animals. He teached us about the Birds we saw and heard as well as about his work in wildlife- and educationprograms. We absolutely recommend Victor. Won't book anywhere else. Check his Birdwatching and Instagram.

  Incredible tour with guide Victor Rosales! He has incredible knowledge about Mayan culture, ruins but also endemic animals and mainly birds. It can recognize the song of a bird in a few seconds and identify it but also invite it to come closer so that we can observe it with the naked eye or with binoculars. We met monkey screamers and spider monkeys in the middle of hunting for their meal it was a show and an incredible concert! I can only recommend the tour at 💯%

  Victor has a degree in ornithology and is passionate about preserving endangered species and threatened plants and wildlife. He is a walking encylopedia about the Mayan and Aztez history. One of the best tour guides we have ever experienced.
