Come join us SCUBA diving some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many different reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different sites on the reef. The sites are chosen by the captain based on the day's sea conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific sites.
IMPORTANT: You MUST be SCUBA certified with recent dive experience for this activity. If you have not been diving in more than one year, you may be required to hire a guide at an additional charge. If you have not been diving in over two years, you will be required to take a refresher course. Single divers may be required to hire a guide.

What To Expect
Certified Divers come explore the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park! Our boat is a 45' Corinthian catamaran especially suited for diving. We make two different stops on the third largest barrier reef in the world - the ONLY barrier reef in the USA! You must be SCUBA certified to participate in this excursion. Not certified? Call us to discuss options to get under the water. IMPORTANT: Please contact us if it has been one year or greater since your last dive as you may be required to hire a guide or participate in a refresher course. Failure may result in an inability to join the trip. We will do our best to buddy up single divers, but this cannot be guaranteed. If you book as a single diver, you understand that you may be required to hire a guide at an additional fee if no buddy is available. Dive excursions include one two-tank dive trip (two different dive sites). Each trip is approximately 3.5 - 4 hours in total length. Tanks and weights included. SCUBA equipment and an in-water guide/divemaster are NOT included but can be hired at an additional cost. Please contact us for pricing and to reserve equipment or a guide, if needed.

5.00We went back AGAIN and Pirates Cove was still awesome. The crew was so friendly and helpful. The boat rides out and back were fun, with great music and conversations. We had a great time. The diving was great; we encountered Dolphins at Moe! Thanks to all! Capt. Caiti, Capt. Brad, Liber, Nate, Maria, Charlie and the super nice staff inside the shop! We'll see you in May!

5.00Best snorkel trip ever! Kate our captain and Libe, our first mate were excellent. They took us to two spots and both had incredible visibility. They also were very informative about the area and set clear boundaries for us to snorkel which were very generous in size. We weren't rushed at all unlike some tours and they were so funny and kept everyone engaged.

5.00Hannah and Gabby were a great Capt/deckhand duo! We had been boarded out from another dive shop due to boat repairs and were pretty happy to find them. Will definitely consider staying at this resort next time!

1.00I recently had an experience with "Pirate's Cove" that left me disappointed. I expected a good family friendly trip, but instead I encountered poor service, delays, unprofessional behavior from the Manager, and rude employees. This was especially frustrating because this was my wife and I's anniversary trip, and we would have went elsewhere had I known this place to be such a circus. I believe that the business could improve by buying newer, less prone to break-down equipment, providing basic nessecities to its customers, and getting rid of that Suzie woman. She was a very crude and unrefined woman. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend them at this time.

5.00Today was day two of the dive package and all expectations were equal or exceeded this time Captain Brad who if he wasn’t a delightful Captain he could be on stage as a comedian he brought fun and laughter to the trip out to the dive sites. And dive guide Murphy was a joy to dive with extremely relaxed, knowledgeable putting everyone at ease. Can’t wait to come back to dive spiegal grove. Already looking forward to it.

5.00Pirates Cove provided a great morning of diving. From start to finish it was relaxed, professional, and genuinely fun. Nate was an outstanding guide: calm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about diving. Liber was equally impressive, keeping the energy high on the surface and making sure logistics were seamless. Together with captain Catie Pirates Cove is a must-dive, especially with a team like this.
Captain Kate (Katie?) was a treat! Super fun.

5.00We ended up on the Pirates Cove boat, but out dive package was with Ocean First. I wanted to take the time to review Pirates Cove because the captain and crew were top notch. Captain Kate (Katie?) was a treat. This particular outing was mostly snorkelers, but also had 8 Scuba divers. We were a little unsettled with all of the snorkelers, but they prioritized the scuba divers for sure. They are also based out of the Reefhouse Resort which is also HIGHLY recommended. (see my review).

5.00Had another fantastic scuba vacation with Pirates Cove! Spent 3 days diving with my son and we had a terrific time. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional staff. Much thanks to Scuba Joe (highly recommend this guy for a guide who has logged a zillion dives and knows every fish by name), Capt Brad ( let us pick out a new dive site and finds dolphins every trip) and 1st Mate Maria (super helpful and took great pics).

5.00Captain Brad and Scuba Joe were absolutely amazing! My friend and I had an awesome dive and the boat ride was a blast. Cant say enough wonderful things about the crew they truly made it an amazing experience and were knowledgeable about the dive sites plus full of fun dad jokes!
