This experience has been gaining popularity through years in giving people an intensive and interesting lessons. People who come to us can be experts who want to open Vietnamese restaurant back home or a person who never cook before but want to be able to eat delicious Viet food when they have to come back after vacation.

Our school locates right in the Centre of the old quarter so very easy to access hence, after the market tour in the biggest market in Hanoi which is right near the old quarter, you can also know where to buy what in the rest of your trip here.

Within only 3 - 4 hours, you get to learn about the ingredients ( spices and Vietnamese produces), get your hands on cooking a whole meal of the most popular and authentic 5 dishes in Hanoi (or its vegetarian version for vegetarian attendants), enjoying your fruits of labor and try Vietnamese rice wine together with your classmates, receiving a cook booklet and certificate!

What To Expect

Explore local market and shopping with our guide, cook 5 Vietnamese dishes, eat your own fruits of labour together with Vietnamese rice vodka. Get a cook book and certificate. Menu: Banh xeo (sizzling pancake with beef and prawn), Bun suon chua (pork rib noodle soup), Pho cuon (beef fresh spring roll), Nom ga hoa chuoi (chicken and banana blossom salad), kem chuoi/ cafe trung ( banana ice cream/ egg coffee). Vegetarians will learn vegetarian version.

Wow! Our market tour and cooking class was the highlight of our time in Hanoi. Our guide Bella had a great sense of humor and kept the class fun and engaging while we learned new techniques and recipes. They also provide a full set of recipes after the class and let us take home leftovers. This class felt like a very authentic way to learn more about the food and culture. Compared to other activities it is a bit more expensive, but it includes a very large meal and will be a lasting memory from our trip.

We loved this class with Bella. She is a very good instructor who explained everything well and showed us exactly what we needed to make 5 tasty dishes. Everything was extremely well organized and we received copies of the recipes so we can make them at home. We highly recommend this cooking class. It was the best of the 3 we did in SE Asia.

My partner and I had such a blast at Apron Up! We did the Premium Cooking Class with Vy to try out a few new recipes we’d never tried before. We had so much fun with Vy as our instructor — she’s so knowledgeable, kept us hands on with each recipe and shared a bit of history behind each dish. She’s also absolutely hilarious — lots of laughs and good times were had! We also loved the trip to the market and picking out our fresh ingredients before kicking things off. Highly recommend this cooking class!! Ask for Vy!! 🫶

Such a fun experience!! Loved getting to choose fresh produce that we cooked with and learning 5 different dishes! All of the food was SO fresh and delicious. An absolute must do it Hanoi, highly recommend!!

We had an amazing time at Apron Up Cooking Class learning how to cook many traditional dishes which we feel confident to try at home! Perla was a great host who made the instructions simple and easy to follow, she also took her time to explain each step. I would recommend this cooking class 10/10 ☺️

We had an amazing time! The cooking was a great experience and a blast to do with my friends. We had a wonderful guide who was very kind and helpful through the entire process. Vy explained everything thoroughly and the food turned out so wonderful! Can not reccomend enough to anyone who comes to visit Hanoi.
