Wow!!! We had the best free walking tour ever. Ian was so nice and full of stories. He talked and talked and talked for about 3 hours with so much passion fot the city and it’s history. A building now isn’t just a building anymore, it has a story to it. As we were only 4 on the tour, it felt like a private tour and while we walked Ian could share his knowledge. I felt sorry for Ian when one of the guests only gave him 2 pounds. I know, you give what you want, but this tour was worth a lot more.

Guide was a no show. We arrived at 10:45 at the designated location, waited for 25, attempted to contact through Viator App, no response. A 10:45 “tips” tour was passing and allowed us to join. We tipped our gracious and expert guide and requested a refund.

I love city walking tours, but Ian takes it to a different level! He's a History teacher born and raised in Liverpool - what else could one ask for? Well, there is more: he's also a great storyteller, intertwining historical events with his personal, first-hand account. Certainly the best way to get to know Liverpool - I couldn't recommend enough!
