It’s the best way to see all the monuments and museums but I would suggest a separate or 2 day if you are going on the Arlington tour due to time.

The hardest part of using the service is picking the right ticket. The rest is easy if you follow your drivers' directions and plan your drop off and pickups where you're instructed.

How long they will have to wait for the next trolley once you visit a certain site. Also at Arlington, the drivers/guides need to explain much better when they drop you off in front of the visitors center that they will pick you up inside the venue. We and other riders were confused as to where to meet. We missed one bus because the driver asked if we were going to Lincoln. We had no idea where that was, so we said no. The next driver asked the same question, so we asked if that is where the hop on hop off was going to continue and he said yes. I think they need to ask EXACTLY that question. Also it should be mandatory to put on that sticker so they don't have to ask for your receipt.

This is a great way to see the city along with interesting background on the city and what there is to see. DC requires alot of walking so this gets you around and saves some steps. The tour guides were all fantastic! The trolleys also include a transfer to Arlington cemetery which was nice. You have to be on the bus by 4 pm. We did not make it to Arlington until 4 so we were the last tour and only got to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier changing of the gaurd and JFK's gravesite. We will go back on a later date. I will definitely consider the hop on hop off option in the future!
