This self-guided GPS audio tour brings to life the land, the towns, the people, and history to the places and sights you pass as you travel along Interstate 55 from St. Louis, MO to Springfield, IL. It transforms a monotonous ride into an stimulating, enjoyable, and no longer boring journey.
A safety note: Always focus on the road, drive safely, and obey all traffic laws. Nothing on this tour requires your immediate or prolonged attention. If something you hear inspires you to explore an attraction further, turn off at the next exit and take local roads to where the attraction is located. Your best view of every attraction is NOT from the Interstate, so do not pull over or slow down because of the tour.
The audio plays automatically at the right time and place using your phone's GPS and the VoiceMap app.

Downloaded the VoiceMap app and entered all of the pertinent information supplied in the registration (had to do it several times) to get to the starting point for the narration. I could not get the narration to start and we were in a hurry to get on the road, so I just bagged to experience.

Signing in was horrendous; took three calls and two emails. But once we were on the road the narrative was very interesting and I would use it for other trips if they have other selection for highway travels

Never received activation email. Side note did not realize it was st. Louis to Springfield thought it was only in the city. Re read description when trying to figure out how to do the tour.

OK, but when a road split, (not obvious which to take), the recording: “It appears you are lost.”, w/ no help, is a little irritating.

We enjoyed this auto tour (our first ever) this past week. It was really interesting to hear the history of the area.
