The tour begins at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where massive icebergs drift toward the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you’ll climb aboard a Super Jeep for an exciting off‑road adventure to the edge of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. The ride is bumpy once we start driving off-road, but offers great views of the surrounding mountains and scenery.
Your guide will lead you into an ice cave - a dazzling world of deep blue ice shaped by meltwater streams and frozen into magical formations. Equipped with a headlamp and glacier crampons, you’ll safely explore the cave, capture incredible photos, and learn how these rare formations appear and change with each winter season.
This is a natural wonder and popular area, so you should expect to share the cave with other groups. Guides do their best to coordinate and give you time & space to enjoy the atmosphere and take pictures.
Ice caves seasonally accessible, and only when conditions are safe.

Glacier Lagoon
Your adventure begins at the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs drift out to sea. Take time to enjoy the view or visit nearby Diamond Beach before departure. The meeting point is on the east side of the main Jökulsárlón parking lot, where you’ll see Super Jeeps and tour vans. Look for the Arctic Adventures sign - your guide will meet you there and lead you to the Super Jeep (marked either Glacier Mice or Arctic Adventures). Tours leave promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Jökulsárlón is a busy area with several parking lots on both sides of the road; allow extra time to park and walk to the meeting point. There are no washrooms at the ice cave, so please use the facilities at Jökulsárlón before we depart.
Vatnajokull Glacier
From the lagoon, climb aboard our specially modified Super Jeep for a scenic ~30 minute drive towards an outlet of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Once we leave the main road, the track becomes off-road and bumpy, adding to the sense of adventure while offering beautiful views of mountains and the surrounding winter landscape. This tour takes you beyond the regular roads, right to the edge of the glacier where the ice cave awaits. Your highly skilled driver-guide will expertly navigate the track so you can buckle up and enjoy the adventure! After the Super Jeep ride, you will be fitted with a helmet and crampons, hear a safety briefing, then be ready to explore.

Overall the tour was incredible. The guide was knowledgeable and had a great attitude! The only note is that the 20 minutes drive to the cave was in a van that was packed with little room to move.

It was pretty windy walking to the Ice cave. It was regret that the main cave was closed for safety reason. Fortunately some of the areas are pretty good too.

The worst of my life! Not only is it not what is offered advertised with the photos of the tour, but the response to the claim is null and void. Once in the truck, the guide says that we will not see the ice caves as advertised but that instead “we will see others”. To which I ask if they are like this, like the pictures and he replies that “if I don’t want to continue, come down and ask for my money back to the office” (which doesn’t exist there) We continue to be very upset about the deal. Once there on the glacier, he asked what that is and answered “ICE”. Really? I'm asking you about the place, do you think I'm dumb or do you kid me? It was all dreadful, caves that you can forget for a huge sum of money. I wrote emails to cancel today's because I ended up sick in yesterday's and nobody took care of it. It was a scam! What the guide said above the truck should have been BEFORE warning the customer but no, they do it when nothing can be done anymore NEVER AGAIN’ hire others

I'm absolutely amazed with the trip with Artic Adventures and our fabulous guide Andżelika aka. Angel. The trip itself was an extraordinary experience, to see Glacier on my own eyes, such a beautiful place is priceless. Our guide Angel, she was another element of the amazing experience. She explained the details about the Glacier, how old it was, how it was formed etc. She was very kind and in additional she really loves nature what was visible in multiple situations when talking about the weather, nature and Glacier. This experience will be in my heart to the end of my life. Our visit (15.04.2025)

We went to diamond beach & walked around the glacier lagoon before meeting our guide & heading into the glacier. The large chunks of glacier ice on the beach & floating in the lagoon were a site to see. Inside the glacier the ice was glowing blue in various spots & our guide was kind enough to take photos for everyone in the group.

We booked the ice cave tour for 9:30 in the morning, but due to severe snowstorms, the road from our hotel to the meeting point was closed. We called them at 8:00 (when the office opened), and they informed us there was nothing going on, we could easily get there (we couldn't! I have attached a picture of our hotel parking for reference, the roads looked the same). Finally, they agreed to let us rebook to 13:00, hoping the storm would ease down and the roads would be safe again. We drove through the storm to the meeting location, but the parking was closed, a temporary parking location was being created on the beach (very dangerous!). When we tried to park there, a ranger from the national park came to us that we were absolutely not allowed to park there. This was all very confusing. Upon exiting our vehicle, 10 minutes before the agreed meeting time, we received a cancellation in our email because of the bad weather. They probably already knew that morning that the weather was too bad for tours to depart all day, but they made us drive anyway. We saw several cars tipped/on the side of the road due to the hazardous conditions! I understand the Icelandic weather can be very unpredictable, but they should be pro-active in keeping tourists safe, not making them drive unsafe roads and park on hazardous lots.

We had a really nice tour with Lisa. The cave was amazing and we loved it. We needed to ask a little before we found the right company.

Dangerous drivers on the mini buses passing cars in Dangerous condition. We ignored this and despite this booked ice cave with them.. had 4 x 4 and drove all the way from Reykjavik, condition turned road closed by authorities despite fact we could have driven the road as we had 4 x4 . Contacted company and they didn't care..refused to give refund. Don't use them..waste of time and awful customer service.. Don't bother answering me with your generic email response
