The tour was excellent. Be prepared for a mix of walking, an old fashioned commuter train, and public buses as transport and bring plenty of coins for the buses and sites. Kamakura is absolutely fascinating and the temples and shrines show the mix of eastern religions in the country. I got so much more out of it than just winging it on my own. The guide goes into the history, culture, and even present day issues facing Kamakura and the Japanese. I highly recommend it.

OK trip to see another town outside of Tokyo - but it was a bit too shrine oriented for our liking. We were hoping to see more of the resort side of Kamakura but maybe that was our fault for not doing the full research

We had a wonderful tour with our guide, covering so much ground without any stress. We were able to see so much more than we could ever cover on our own plus received so much information and history as well.

Enjoyed traveling on mass transit in addition to tour. We visited both Shinto and Buddha shrines in addition to the beautiful bamboo forest.

Our guide Yumiko "Yumi" was fantastic! She was prompt, kind, and very knowledgeable about Japan and the Kamakura period we were interested in. Yumi navigated through the area on public transport with ease and we were able to spend a relaxing time at each of the temples and shrines we visited. We loved the opportunity to have lunch with Yumi in a traditional Japanese restaurant and learn more about Japanese culture. Yumiko went above and beyond for us and we are so thankful to have met her Great memories were made and it was a perfect day in a perfect place. Highly recommend this tour.
