What To Expect

Tandem skydiving is an incredible experience, and at TTS, we are passionate about making your skydive a memory to remember. On arrival, you will go through the safety briefing and our available camera options, then get kitted up with all the equipment you need for a safe experience. Meet your experienced tandem master, and the adventure begins! First you'll enjoy a scenic plane ride up to 12,000ft, 15,000ft or 16,500ft (depending on the altitude option you choose). You’ll see incredible views of Lake Taupo, Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngauruhoe – also known as Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings. Once you’ve reached altitude, the doors will open, you’ll sit on the edge of the plane with your tandem master seated behind you. After exiting the plane you will freefall at speeds of 200 kph! At 5,500 feet your tandem master will deploy the parachute and you can catch your breath while taking in the stunning views of the Lake Taupo area. Float back to earth with a relaxing parachute ride with your tandem master, arriving safe and soundly back at the drop zone. Once back on the ground it’s time for a high five and a hug. You did it!

Excellent last minute decision, I don't think I'll be a frequent jumper as the free fall was intense but what a rush. I thoroughly enjoyed the calm of the parachute and the views are spectacular. Dave, thank you for shoving me out of a plane and being a great comfort during the flight. Definitely recommend! One ticked off the list!

The TTS team are awesome & on to it in every way. From the moment you walk in the door everything is friendly, fun & professional. This team have everything sorted & run a smooth operation that allows you to relax and enjoy the experience. Every member of the team was awesome to deal with & my tandem master Nathan made everything a breeze and also took care of everything with a great friendly nature, great comms & effected everything so to me, it was seamless and easy. I've always thought those who make things seem so simple, are the true masters. Nathan & the team did tha! I started with the 12,000 ft package but upgraded (for only $NZD 50) to the 15,000 ft deal & so glad I did. Once you've done it, you just wish it was longer. The sensation, the views the whole experience ... I just wanted more of it all. Your in great hands from the second you walk in, & if you try it for yourself, you'll find Taupo Tandem Skydiving is something you were very glad & lucky to have experienced. A simply outstanding experience in every way! Highly recommend

I cannot recommend this enough! I have genuinely never been so scared to do anything else in my whole life, but doing the 12,000ft tandem skydive was just incredible. My instructor Nathan Purver was beyond brilliant. I felt at ease from the minute we met, he answered all of the questions I thought were silly, his instructions were so clear and he reassured me throughout. I felt so safe in his hands. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you Nathan and Taupō Tandem Skydiving for the experience of a lifetime!

Talked about doing this forever and finally booked it for Taupo. Weather delayed us a bit, but I was k ept updated. The process was smooth and I was made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Nathan was my guide and he was wonderful. He helped me through some of my fears and made the experience great. Highly recommend this company.
