Learn to surf at Torquay on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria's surfing and beach capital. With its sheltered, safe beach and close proximity to Melbourne, the conditions at Torquay are ideal for beginners. You'll learn to surf in waist deep water with fully qualified surf instructors who are also surf life savers. Soft beginner surf board and full length wetsuit are all included.

What To Expect

Meet at our shop at 1/15 Bell St Torquay to change into your wetsuit and collect your surf board, then walk with your instructor onto the beach at Torquay. We begin with some basic instruction and safety on the beach and then go into the water to waist deep to catch some waves. We return to the beach for more detailed instruction on how to stand up and then spend the rest of the time in the water catching waves with the instructor helping everyone to stand up. We return to the shop to shower and change after the lesson.

Amazing experience!!! The weather was great and the waves were perfect🌊🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏻 All the staff is very friendly, the owner helped us immediately to find a place in the lesson on the same day. A special thanks to Zenda and Jessie who were our teachers for the day, super competent and kind !!😊 Absolutely recommended as an experience if you are visiting Torquay🇦🇺

Shanay was our instructor and she was super friendly and helpful, we both managed to stand up on the board eventually with her help. Great couple of hours, definitely want to go back!

So happy we chose to come here, great staff and so helpful when picking wetsuits and surfboards. Hannah was amazing with my little girl, she’s 5 and normally hates putting on a wetsuit but Hannah made it fun for her and I really appreciate that! Thank you, we had a great day at the beach thanks to your help.

Joel and Danny were fantastic instructors. I booked this as a Christmas surprise for my mum and sister who are beginner surfers. This was a great experience and I would definitely recommend!
