Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Definitely fun and worth doing. There is a long time before dinner so the train ride is a great addition especially if you have kids! The performance was fun to watch especially the fire dancing! The staff were all so nice and attentive. The one thing that could be improved on is the food. It wasn’t bad but typical and for almost 700$ I would have expected something a little better. Over all a fun experience!

My wife and I had a great time at the luau. We opted to take the train ride through the plantation and enjoyed seeing all the fruit trees, coffee shrubs, and cacao trees. We were pleasantly surprised that we got to stop midway to feed the pigs. They had some adorable day old piglets out there with mama. The food was delicious! I especially enjoyed the kalua pork, Mac salad, and pineapple cake. Good mai tais too. The show was amazing! A captivating story with beautiful set design and costumes. The fire dragon dancers were especially impressive! Highly recommend this luau! One of the best I’ve seen. We also opted to catch ride to/from the event. Our driver Rosario, was friendly, punctual, and had a great playlist to hype us up for the event.

This was an unforgettable experience. My favorite part was feeding the horses during the train ride and the dinner show itself was beautiful. There was so much to do while waiting for the show to start so we never felt bored and the staff were all so kind and engaging. We will definitely be attending again on future visits!

The show and buffet are excellent. We opted for the train ride as well and Bruce was an exceptional guide. Although you do feel a bit rushed with getting off the bus and then the train and then the ceremony for unearthing the pig , there is no time to get to see the craft vendors set up around the area. Plan to make another trip to see the plantation house and area.
