  While preparing for the Java - Indonesia trip you saw this CNA documentary on Majapahit Epire. You were instantly hooked. And it was a relief that Viator has curated a trip for historyheads! And for a historical tour you need a knowledgeable companion who knows his history, the people and all about current events happening in the country and the world. Barly, guide for today checks all the boxes. It was a joyous day – your kind of day – as we go on a Temple Run in Mojokerta. Yes, Kawah Putih was amazing but to you it was a side meal. A whole day of exploring ancient built heritage is what you call the main course. Java is full of these delicious cuisines that every day of your trip here has been fun and filled with revelations. It was a satisfying day of long interesting conversations with Barly, hopping from one terracotta temple to another, discovering the Indian and Hindu connections and losing yourself in the beautiful stone images at the Museum. Thanks Barly, for making this a memorable day in my life in Java. Hope to see you soon as we go exploring other empires and history of this amazing country and friendly & warm people. • Excellent archaeological tour for anyone staying in Surabaya!

  Had a perfect tour with guide/driver Barly. I was the only one on the tour, which was great because I got to go at my own faster pace and still see everything I wanted to see. I enjoyed all the beautiful historic sites, and the museum had some great artifacts. The car was nice and cool and comfortable, and Barly is a very informative and friendly guide who makes the day very enjoyable.

  Bari was our guide and driver. He did a wonderful job. These sites are very interesting and definitely worth the visit!

  Pak Barli was my guide and an excellent one at that. His knowledge of the relics was good and very entertaining. Had a great time exploring the different candi all around the town. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to Pak Barli for a Majapahit history He is a very nice chap, accommodating, and importantly flexible on the time. Ask for him. • Terrible from start to finish

  This was the worst tour we have ever taken. Our ticket stated our start time was 9 am. We asked the company to confirm this time but never got a response. At 8:30 am we got an 2 emails one time stamped 8:13 asking where we were and one a few minutes later asking "can we go now". I responded stating our pickup was 9 am and we were on the ship but we get off ASAP. When we got off we were met by a young man with our name on a sign. He did not introduce himself, just took us to a car and drove off. He gave us no explanation of what happened that morning nor any explanation of where we were going or what we going to see. He said virtually nothing during the entire drive to the sight. We eventually arrived and it became evident that he could not speak more than a few words of English. The descriptions at the various locations were only in Indonesian so we did not know what we were looking at. After about an hour of being driven between various spots of sparse ruins were driven back to the ship. So we spent over 3 hours driving there and back to see a few scattered ruins and a museum of pieces of buildings. Definitely not worth checking $219 we paid. We would a full refund as we did not receive what was described.
