What To Expect
Learn to cook an authentic Sri Lankan meal inside an authentic village kitchen hosted by a local family. 8 Dishes will be cooked using primitive tools as well as a few modern tools so you can cook these meals when you are at your home. So roll up your sleeves, with the help of us you can start experiencing the cooking process of this rich indigenous selection with distinct differences in taste in the low country, hill country, and northern regions of the island.

Pol sambol is a traditional Sri Lankan food that is made with grated coconut, red onions, chillies, and a variety of spices.

5.00A fantastic experience with a lovely family, everyone helping out and so friendly. The setting was very chilled and amazing. We got through many dishes during our lesson and each one tasted so delicious. We will be trying them out at home. Thank you

5.00We enjoyed a interesting and fun afternoon with Malee and her daughter who assisted with preparations. We cooked chicken curry with 4 vegie curries, a dalh and two sambal, one with banana flower. All of us were engaged in the preparations and cooking activities. When the meal was ready we could all dig in with great appetitie. Recommended!

5.00It was fantastic experience. Warm family atmosphere and delicious food. During lesson you will learn how to cook different currys and sri lankan food in general as sambala. All ingredients come from Malee garden, it is fresh and organic.Dont eat two days in advance, you will make enormous amount of food during classes! Definitely recommended ❤️

5.00This is a wonderful authentic experience done at Malee’s home. We had a lesson with just our family of 5. It is a hands on cooking lesson and was definitely the best meal we have had in Sri Lanka! Amazing to experience traditional cooking on an open fire too. Malee is warm and welcoming and an excellent cook! I’m so glad we didn’t miss out on this experience!

5.00Malee was a fantastic host. We really enjoyed this cooking class, where we learned to cook three different curries. We were cooking in the middle of Malee's house, a very nice vibe. At the end of the evening there was a table full of tasty dishes and side dishes and we were allowed to eat. We recommend it to everyone! We enjoyed it very much.

5.00I really enjoyed this cooking workshop! We made several curries and side dishes that were each very tasty with fresh ingredients. We also learned different techniques such as making coconut milk ourselves. The workshop was also nicely situated in the green and Malee and her family are very friendly:)) I will definitely be making the recipes again at home, thank you for this experience!
