“The best way to know a city is to walk it.” Simone de Beauvoir, renowned French writer, was right.
And it is especially true for Marseille.
Marseille is unique, a city with 100 personnalities, an oxymoron where calm and noise live together in a chaotic harmony.
The oldest city in France, 2600 years old, still has a young beating heart, and the best way to feel it is to simply walk on it.
On this tour of 8 people maximum, you'll experience and discover, with a local, passionate and bilingual guide, what makes Marseille, Marseille.
We will wander through the small and only walkable streets of Le Panier, learn about Marseille's rich history one monument after the other. We will climb to Notre Dame de la Garde, overlooking the panoramic view of the city, see hidden gems that can be only seen on foot, lose ourselves in Le Roucas Blanc, and go back in time visiting the little fishing port of Le Vallon des Auffes.
And so, so much more.
Join us exploring this southern treasure.

His enthusiasm, his detailed knowledge of the city’s history, his kindness enchanted us. Very interesting visit even if we came to Marseille for the 3rd time.

This was a wonderful tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the area. He took us through lots of different areas, and took rest breaks after some harder inclines!

During my recent trip to Marseille, I decided to book a guided tour with Charles, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made during my stay. From the very start, Charles demonstrated an impressive attention to detail that set the tone for the entire experience. I booked the tour about ten days before my arrival in Marseille. Charles replied promptly with a detailed message that included clear instructions on where to meet, completed with a photo and a map. This level of detail made me feel comfortable and excited for the tour. When I needed to reschedule due to unfavorable weather, Charles was incredibly accommodating. He even sent me a thoughtful list of recommended places to visit and dine at during my trip. I initially chose this tour because of the variety of points of interest it covered. While I am not typically a history buff, I found myself genuinely engaged by the stories and historical insights Charles shared. The walk through picturesque villages and the discovery of the hidden gems within Marseille were truly unforgettable. The great conversation throughout the tour made the experience feel less like a formal excursion and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. Each day I spent in Marseille, I grew fond of the city, but the half-day tour with Charles was undoubtedly the highlight of my stay. His enthusiasm and contagious energy brought the city to life in a way I hadn’t anticipated. Looking back, my only regret is not taking this tour at the beginning of my visit. If you’re considering a guided tour in Marseille, I highly recommend booking with Charles. His attention to detail, kindness, and passion for the city make for an exceptional experience. I hope to return to Marseille and join another tour with Charles in the future! :)
