  The tour was wonderful and Jose was fantastic! We read and analyzed beautiful poems, and also enjoyed a magical historical setting. The places Joseph showed us really brought poetry to life; walking through those stages made each verse come to new meaning. We also share perspectives on Mexican identity and the social and cultural contrasts that, although they originated centuries ago, remain surprisingly relevant today. My teenage daughter was especially inspired and motivated to read more poetry after this experience. It was an enriching and unforgettable experience for both.100% recommended, especially for poetry lovers.

  You will want to build this tour into your visit to Mexico City or even if you live there. You’ll visit several historic sites, read poetry from the 1400s to today, along with a local poet, Jose Vicente Figueroa. I’m still thinking of the poems hours later.

  José was on time and we started off with coffee at Sanborns. José’s knowledge of Mexico was both broad and deep. We read his original poems and discussed them as we toured the city center. Also, we read poems by Mexican poets from the 16th century to the present. I would recommend any of José’s tours of CDMX as he is both articulate and knowledgeable about Mexico City and its rich culture.

  José came very well prepared with 6 Mexican poems from a range of dates throughout history. Truly fascinating and whilst it wasn’t a tour as such in the traditional sense, taking time to read, discuss and analyse the meaning behind the poems and the metaphors was super interesting for me as a poetry lover!

  Such a special experience to read some of Mexico's greatest poets at key sites in Centro Historico. This was a unique way to learn about Mexican history through a a short but powerful selection of poems. José also recommended some other sites that weren’t on my list and that I never would have found otherwise. Recommend for literature lovers and for folks who want something a little off the beaten path!

  The tour exceeded my expectations completely. Not only did I learn about the rich history and works of Mexican poets, but I also did so in a captivating and detailed way. Every story, every corner visited, allowed me to connect with the essence of Mexican poetry and culture. Undoubtedly, it is an experience that I would live again and again, always discovering something new and fascinating.
