Kerameikos
This is a place relatively unknown to tourists even though it is one of the most important landmarks. Kerameikos means “ceramic”. It was called like that because there were many ceramic workshops here. It was also the cemetery of Athens for many centuries. In this place many prominent Athenians whose name are famous, were buried here! This is also where Pericles pronounced his famous “Epitaph” speech for the first casualties of the Peloponnesian war where he praises the virtues of Democracy and the ways of the Athenians.
Ancient Agora of Athens
This place was the heart of the city of Athens. Philosophers like Socrates, Plato, politicians like Solon, Themistocles, Pericles, Thucydides, Sophocles, Aristofanis, that consisted the “Dream Team” of Athens, prominent Athenians and simple citizens walked here and had discussions and debates for all matters.

Panos was excellent. We had the best time on our tour. He led us from site to site over a relaxed and highly informative evening. The tour was pitched just right and Panos is an expert. We spent about 3 hours together and it was exceptional value.

Excellent tour that stands out from all the walking tours I have joined before. Panos is a very knowledgeable gentleman who understands what a tour should be and will lead you to a deep dive into the development of philosophy and democracy. Definitely a tour you would like to join if you want to know more about the history of Athens and also a reflection on how philosophy shaped our known world.

This walking tour is exceptional for just one reason - the guide. Mr Panos is a fount of information (and thought-provoking insights) on ancient Greek history and philosophy. I would recommend this, strongly, to every history buff.

Panos was so interesting, articulate and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend to anyone who wishes to learn about Greece and everything that has contributed to its development and effect on world civilisations. The sights of the ancient parts of Athens mixed in with philosophical, mythological and democratic discussion was definitely a highlight for our trip. Thank you Panos.

Panos took us on a journey through ancient Athens, expertly weaving together the themes of the tour: the history which influenced the mythology which influenced the philosophy which influenced the democracy which influenced… well, you get the picture. Highlights included a visit to the epicenter of Golden Age Athenian democracy, the Pnyx, and the end-of-tour symposium that served as an introduction to Ancient Greek philosophy (and beyond). This tour is a must for anyone who is interested in learning the Athenian way.

This was a great tour of philosophy, mythology and democracy in athens. We had a small group, led by Panos. Thoughtful, insightful tour of some of the most important sites that might be easily missed on the standard Acropolis and museum itinerary. Well worth the time and money.
