Kofuku-ji Temple
Located at the entrance of Nara Park, Kofuku-ji is a historically rich Buddhist temple that once stood as one of Japan’s powerful "Four Great Temples." Its majestic Five-Story Pagoda—the second tallest in Japan—is an iconic symbol of Nara and a breathtaking sight to behold. Take a peaceful stroll through the open temple grounds, admire the unique octagonal halls, and experience the profound spiritual heritage that has shaped Japan for over 1,300 years.
Kasuga Grand Shrine
Nestled at the foot of a sacred primeval forest, Kasuga Taisha is Nara’s most celebrated Shinto shrine and a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. This magical stop is world-famous for its thousands of lanterns—both stone lanterns lining the atmospheric forest pathways and brilliant bronze ones hanging elegantly within the shrine complex. As you walk the peaceful approach, you’ll be greeted by Nara’s friendly wild deer, revered here as divine messengers of the gods.

Kosuke is a wonderful tour guide. He showed us the temples, shrines and deer park in Nara. He showed us how to use the bus and train stations to get to the various sites. He has a lot of knowledge and history of Nara and the temples. He took us to a great place for lunch and shared tips about the Japanese culture. He has a sense of humor and was fun to talk to; very engaging tour guide. We look forward to requesting Kosuke for our tour guide when we return. Strongly recoomrnend the tour.

Kosuke gave a wonderful tour. His knowledge of each of the sights was complete and thorough. He also offered great insight in the Japanese history and culture. He engaged with each of us separately and offered many opportunities for group photos to remember the visit to Nara.

Was a great half day tour with Kosuke - he taught us a lot at each stop on the way and answered all of our questions about the history. He guided us to lunch and back to the train station at the end of the tour. Would highly recommend his tour for anyone wishing to experience a lot in Nara in a single day!
