  • Absolutely worth it

Absolutely fabulous experience. So glad I took a guided hike because it was definitely at the moderate level. I got lots of background and history from the guide as well as hints on how to make the trek safer and less strenuous as we walked along. I was able to share lots of fun facts and Greek history with the next group I joined, and I felt like it enriched my whole trip to Greece..

We had an amazing time on our hike! We learned so much about the history and crops of Mount Zas, and the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking — you can see all of Naxos Island from there. Our guide, Nick, was incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about what he does. We ended the hike with a delicious Greek picnic prepared by Nick and some local residents from his village — it was such a special touch! I highly recommend taking this tour. The hiking poles Nick provided were really helpful (it would have been challenging without them), and the fact that he picked us up from our hotel made the whole experience even more convenient.

Hike was great, our guide was very helpful and accommodating dropping my father off at a local village beforehand as he had injured his leg unfortunately. Views were amazing, recommend a windproof jacket as it was a bit chilly!

This experience was once in a lifetime. It was challenging, but worth it. We went on a cloudy/rainy day which is rare for Naxos, so we did not have any views at the top which was a really huge bummer, but the experience was worth it no matter what. I highly recommend this tour. Our guide had a home cooked meal prepared for us at the end, and when I tell you this is the best food Ive ever eaten in my life, that would be an understatement. Olive oil pressed from his own olive trees! The stories and information given along the hike was invaluable. 10/10, would do it again!!

Nick was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the island and the tiny towns we passed through on our way to the hike starting point. Hiking up Mt Zeus, Nick kept us entertained with stories about the trail and the many points of interest dotting the landscape. We also learned about the olive and olive oil industry along with other fruits of the island. Nick even found a fig tree ripe with fruit and we had a refreshing fig on our way down! A WORD OF CAUTION! This hike is not for everyone - my friend and I ( both in our late 60’s and me having had 2 knee replacements), had to stop halfway up as the trail was simply too much for us. Nick contacted his company to advise them of the situation before he would continue up with the rest of our group and checked in on us while we rested and waited for their return. Although my friend and I could not complete the entire tour we still felt very included and truly enjoy the part of the hike we did complete. I totally recommend this company and in particular Nick for his attentiveness!

  • More Than Just a Hike to the Highest Point in the Cyclades

We had a great hike and learned a lot about Greek mythology, the history and culture of Naxos, and the Cyclades Islands. Nick and Nectarios are wonderful guides. They supplied us with hiking poles and helped ensure our safety throughout the hike. The hike itself was not very tiring, but you do have to pay close attention to the terrain, which has uneven rocks and loose gravel in some places. We took frequent breaks to take in the view and learn about Naxos and the story of Zeus. After returning to the trailhead, they provided a delicious light lunch. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing hike! We wanted to do a guided hike as when enjoy being able to learn about the area we are visiting and this did not disappoint. Not only did we enjoy hiking to the top of Mt Zas, we learned about the history of the trail, Naxos, local herbs/vegetation, the surround islands you can see as you climb, and mythology of the surrounding area. It was a wonderful experience and we felt better connected to the island after. The lunch included was amazing. We are a couple of months out now and still talking about it. Even with the fall I took coming back down the mountain (which Nick helped by properly bandaging and securing my knee), it is one of my favorite memories of our Greece trip!
