Unforgettable Experience in the Italian Countryside! This was my 3rd year leading a Plein Air Painting Retreat at one of Il Fontanaro’s gorgeous villas. And my favorite day of the retreat is our memorable cooking class! Hands down one of the best meals of my life- every time! Chef Alina is so knowledgeable, kind and fun- a great cooking teacher! My painting students and I thoroughly enjoyed our pasta making cooking class with her, the fabulous meal, & tour of Il Fontanaro’s olive oil production facility and wine cellar. Highly recommend!!

Welcoming arrival, Alina was friendly , fun and informative, great class and we learned a-lot Pastas were all delicious and the dessert wine and limoncello Most of the foods that were used in the ingredients came from their family farm It was a pleasure to see the ducks and chickens and the dog! We also learned about the olive oil processing and we’re able to participate in it a bit Highly recommend

It was amazing, fun and the best meal ever. Alina is extremely patient and made sure we understood that love was one of the important ingredients. Alina speaks perfect English so it was easy to understand and follow instructions. The kitchen is so warm and welcoming. The ingredients could not have been more fresh.. from the kitchen garden. We made several dishes and then after they were complete we ate at the lovely table outside of the kitchen. It was so special and unique. The food was amazing and the cost of the class considering we had several meals out of it was almost nothing. Can't think of a better meal that we had in our 3 weeks in Italy.

If you are wanting an authentic Italian cooking experience in a beautiful setting, look no more. Alina’s Slow Cooking School was one of the best parts of our vacation. She walked us through how to make several different pastas, including ravioli and spaghetti, and a simple fruit tiramisu which we ate for lunch around a communal table. Alina is a lot of fun! Plus, she gave us a tour of her family’s olive orchard and oil press. We also met and cooked with some enjoyable people from other parts of the world. An all around great day.

A warm welcome to Il Fontanaro awaited us from Alina and her family - Lucia and Clara. Such a beautiful setting for us to learn to make some Tuscan pasta dishes and learn about organic olive oil production. Alina shared her passion for this with us. Once we had prepared these dishes plus a summer tiramisu we could sit down and share them with our classmates from around the world with a glass of wine and some homemade limoncello. Nothing was too much trouble (we had a lot of assistance when we had a flat tyre en route and needed to get it replaced) and we were made to feel very much at home in a beautiful part of Tuscany. I would wholeheartedly recommend a cookery class with Alina - you won’t regret it!!

Alina was very informative and along with her assistant were hands on helpful. Besides the delicious lunch was the way Alina brought 11 of us who did not know each other together to have a wonderful morning.
