Bus was full. Glad I signed up through Viator. Everything went smoothly and on time. Our bus driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Props to my new cuz.

March 12 2026 Hawaii governor declared state of emergency due to severe weather; schools, businesses, roads, closed in entire state. Viator/local Karma tour operator did not cancel. Morning of we emailed and called from our cruise ship to confirm, “Pearl Harbor is open, tour still on?”, told yes. Driver Jeff was wonderful but the entire experience HORRIBLE, sideways rain and high winds, trees down, streets flooded. Pearl Harbor tour was NOT running (after repeatedly being told by Karma/Viator it was), we were left at Pearl Harbor by our driver, Jeff, because he was doing double duty and were drenched and freezing when he returned Over 2 hours later (remember he was doing double duty). Extremely limited tours on USS Missouri then it too closed and Ford Island shut down leaving half our party stranded outside in 60 MPH winds, driving, sideways rain with trees/branches falling. (God bless Jeff and another driver for working together to get everyone reunited. ) We were already drenched from waiting 2+ hours at Pearl Harbor. Getting back in several shifts was dreadful in reverse with flooded streets, torrential rain and general chaos. Karma tour’s management was irresponsible and put people in danger, Viator refuses to take responsibility and we have canceled any future Viator bookings. Beware

The tour operator cancelled the tour the morning it was scheduled. The tour guide lied about our tickets being accepted for the next seven days at the Arizona memorial. They are now refusing to refund us and Viator has also refused our refund.

Do not depend on Viator or their partner Karma Tours to cancel in the event of bad weather. The Governor had declared a state of emergency due to high winds, rain and flooding and our tour was not cancelled. We were picked up at our port by a tour bus and dropped at Pearl Harbor and left for 2.5 hours in pouring rain. The boat to the monument was cancelled and we had no alternative but to wait in the pouring rain for our tour bus to return. I texted the driver and he was running another tour and could not return until our designated time. When we were finally picked up and taken to our second stop, The Missouri, we were left again only this time the bus never returned to pick us up. We had to find a Missouri employee to call for a shuttle to take us back to the Arizona to catch a Karma Tour bus as we later were told they were not allowed in to pick us up due to State of Emergency due to bad weather. We were at no time offered an apology or a refund. We expected a full refund from Viator as they were who we booked the tour with. A terrible experience! Beware! We will not use Viator tours again! This photo was as close as we got to the Arizona.

Our guide was on double duty, so he left us, and then came back almost two hours later. It wasn't his fault it was raining and windy, so they wouldn't let us go out to the Arizona, but he shouldn't have left us.

Our tour guide Jeff was amazing. He was the best part of our tour. A Kona storm was happening & the tour company would not refund our money so we went against the advice of the governor, who had asked tourist to stay off roads & hunker down in our hotels. There were downed trees, flooded roads, power outages, & schools were closed as well as public offices. By the time we had gotten to Pearl Harbor the storm had increased in strength. Rain was 1-3” per hour with winds gusting at 50 mph or more. The ferry had already canceled 1 trip across to the monument. Ours got to go due to wind slowing down. As we got closer it took 2 attempts to dock then park ranger said we couldn’t get on monument. They changed their minds & let us go I guess because we had made it that far. The ferry had to leave because it became too hazardous for them to stay docked. After being told to quickly make our way through the memorial we were then stranded with the storm picking up again. About 15 minutes later they were able to dock again to pick us up. After our ferry made it back they closed the Pearl Harbor Memorial for the day. I feel the tour company put money over safety by not canceling this tour. There was debris in the water as well as choppy seas. The gravity of the memorial was not lost on us but certainly would have not gone if we could have been refunded. It is beyond me to understand why we would be put at risk with this once in a few years storm. I understand that I am ultimately the decision maker for my own safety but when the governor is telling everyone to stay home or in your hotel then your companies need to access the situation better. Karma Tours did not care enough if at all for our safety. I chose also to not recommend this experience to a friend because I don’t have a good one to compare it to. Mahalo to our tour guide who would keep us warm on the bus with the heater.

Tour operator cancelled at time of expected departure. Operator and Viator refusing to refund and gave us an option to “reschedule” the day we fly out as the only alternative. So in short, tour was cancelled, the company refused to provide services paid for and they’re expecting to keep $520. Thankfully, banks fully recognize this happens often and we’ve successfully started a “Chargeback” process with our bank. As customers, we understand things happen but to cancel a tour and then refuse to provide a refund is unacceptable. This will be the last time we use Viator or any of their vendors for travel experiences moving forward. Save your self the chaos and unfair treatment and book with Pearl Harbor directly.

Our driver was really great - Jeff / however he was working a double in terribly inclement weather and our group got stranded on Ford Island after the Missouri closed early. Everything was closed and we didn’t get to do any of the tour.
