What To Expect
Centro Storico di Polignano a Mare
Free visit of the city where you can try the famous special coffee or delicious gelato in one of the many coffee bars in the historic center. Look out from its balconies overlooking the sea to take pictures of the famous caves. Dip your feet in the waters by the cliff at Cala Porto or simply admire the view from the bridge on the ancient Via Traiana. Fly with your imagination next to the statue of Domenico Modugno.
I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site
Walk around the historic center with the possibility of visiting one of the thousands trulli inside. Visit to the Trullo Sovrano (2 euros), the most majestic and rich in history, now a museum. Visit to the Trullo Church dedicated to Sant'Antonio da Padova. The trulli are extraordinary examples of dry stone slab construction, a technique dating back to prehistoric times and still used in this region. The trulli are traditional dry stone huts with a roof made of dry-set slabs. They served as temporary shelters or as permanent homes for small landowners or agricultural workers. They were built in roughly worked limestone, extracted during excavations for the construction of underground cisterns, stones collected in the countryside and from surrounding rocky outcrops. These buildings have the characteristic rectangular structure with a conical roof made of set stones.

5.00These three cities are completely different from one another and nothing we have ever seen before. Enzo our guide had just the right suggestions for each stop. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and made each stop special. We had a good balance of being guided as well as having time to explore on our own.

5.00Great tour for these towns within a day! The transportation was comfortable and smooth. Enzo was super friendly and shared lots of history and fun facts during the transfer. He gave us tips on what to get in different areas. We had enough time to explore all destinations and grabbed lunch in Matera. Recommend!

4.00I arranged a day tour with Edson and it was an enjoyable event. Matera was nice with cobblestone paths and several churches and ancient caves. It involves lot of walking and climbing steps. The day can be very hot in the summer months, hence it is better to tour the place during the morning hours when it is cooler and less crowded. The cobblestone paths can be slippery on wet days. The next stop was Alberoville, apart from the unique houses it is more of a souvenir sales spot. The next stop was Poligniano. Touists flock because of secluded beach again a popular tourist attraction. Enjoyed Matera the most. My Tour guide Edson caters for private small group tours and driver as well. He is friendly, amiable and speaks fluent english. Basically he will drop you at the destinations, give some historical information and you can do the tour on your own or follow a local tour guide

5.00I was trying to figure out how to day-trip to Matera when I found Enzo’s service on TripAdvisor. Worked out great. Met Enzo at Bari Centrale. Since we had some time prior to my tour starting in Matera, he suggested we stop in Altamura on the way. Was able to visit the Cathedral and then we also went to this 500 year old bakery that I never would have found on my own and we got some focaccia pizza for our lunch which was delish. Communication on the front end was quick and responsive and the logistics during the day were seamless. On the return to Bari, before dropping me back off at the train station, he gave me a quick tour of his city and also dropped me off at a spot where I could walk thru the old city of Bari on my way back to the station which was great. Enzo is also a great guy, fun conversations on the way to/from Matera. Would highly recommend!
Great trip and relaxing to have another drive us!
