Just 2.5 hours from Johannesburg, this malaria-free reserve lies within an ancient volcanic crater and overflows with incredible wildlife—from lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo to cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hippo and more than 365 bird species.
Your adventure begins with an early pickup. Travel in comfort in a shared minibus before switching to an open 4×4 safari vehicle for two exhilarating 2.5–3-hour game drives, guided by an expert ranger. Enjoy exceptional wildlife encounters, a relaxing lunch at one of the park’s scenic rest camps (included), and complimentary bottled water throughout the day.
You’ll depart the park around 15:30–16:00, arriving back in Johannesburg before sunset.

What To Expect
Pilanesberg National Park
Your safari adventure begins with a smooth, climate-controlled transfer from Sun City to Pilanesberg National Park. On arrival, you’ll enjoy exclusive use of an open 4x4 safari vehicle and a dedicated ranger for six full hours of personalised game viewing—split into an early-morning drive and a late-afternoon exploration. Track the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo—along with zebra, giraffe, cheetah, hyena, hippo, crocodile and more than 300 bird species. Midday brings a relaxing break at one of the park’s scenic rest camps, where you can enjoy a light lunch before heading out again. Your experience ends inside the reserve, after which you’ll be comfortably transferred back to Sun City. A light lunch is included.

5.00Fantastic day! Petros was a great game ranger and we were lucky to see elephants, rhino, giraffe, warthog, many different buck and more. Lunch was a welcome break in between drives and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Great memories made!

5.00What an amazing day! This was my second time doing this safari and I was lucky enough to have the same driver and guide. Petrus was amazing, informative and full of humour. We felt very safe and covered a lot of ground. From the moment we entered the park to the last drive out we were blessed with animals. Petrus made sure he snagged the best vantage point for photos. Lunch was lovely and he had lots of cold bottled water available. I will definitely do this again and request Petrus as our driver.

5.00Our guide Petrus took us on an amazing day safari at Pilansberg, a real adventure. We were close up with elephants, giraffe & rhinoceros, with water sightings of the hippopotamus & glimpses of the lions. Petrus made it a fun day!& a bbq lunch was included. Highly recommend this experience!

5.00Pentris, was amazing! Coolest guide ever, unfortunately didnt see any cats however that didnt ruin my experience at all, just gives me more to come back for. Staff were so thoughtful with lunch and cold waters during the safari. Grateful, thank you!
