What To Expect
Cu Chi Tunnels
We’ll pick you up at your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the early morning, and you’ll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km. At Cu Chi you’ll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice-paper and rice-wine. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.
My Tho
After exploring the tunnels, we’ll drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. We’ll cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Turtle. On this part of the tour you’ll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River. We’ll then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. You’ll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves and bee-keeping farms. We’ll stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy and southern Vietnamese folk music. At the end of our tour we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel at around 17:00.

5.00We had a very full and really interesting day out with our guide Phong who was very informative and had excellent English! Leaving HCMC early and getting to the Cu Chi Tunnels first meant we didn't have to wait and it was apparently cooler!! Enjoyed a huge lunch and guided tour around the Mekong Delta in the afternoon. Really worthwhile day, well planned and enjoyable way to see it!

4.00The guide was very knowledgable on the Chu Chi tunnels and gave us excellent account of the history and what life was like in the American/Vietnam War. . His english and diction was very good.
The Mekon Delta portion afternoon had to many 'sales' elements and in hindsight was too short at a 1/2 day. Overall we had a very good trip and enjoyed it emmensely.I would recommend a full day tour of Mekon Dekon Delta. 1/2 day for Chu Chi tunnels is sufficient.

5.00Our guide was fantastic and very informative. We got to the tunnels nice and early so missed the major crowds. We enjoyed our snack of cassava root and green tea at the tunnels, it held us over until lunch. Speaking of lunch...absolutely amazing meal! We were served a whole fried fish and the server showed us how to wrap it in rice paper with all of the correct fixins. During our tour of the Mekong Delta, we were able to visit a bee hive where we got to hold one of the frames covered in bees, it was a really cool experience. Plus we were able to sample some of the products made from the honey. Everyone in our group really enjoyed themselves on this tour, highly recommend.
