Kosovo
The youngest European country Kosovo, officially the Republic of Kosovo, is a partially-recognized state in Southeastern Europe. On 17 February 2008, Kosovo unilaterally declared its independence from Serbia. It has since gained diplomatic recognition as a sovereign state around 100 UN member states. Geographically defined in an area of 10,887 km2, Kosovo is landlocked in the center of the Balkans and bordered by the uncontested territory of Serbia to the north and east, Macedonia to the southeast, Albania to the southwest and Montenegro to the west.
Gracanica Monastery
The first stop upon entering Kosovo will be the medieval Grachanica monastery, built by the Serbian king Stefan Milutin in 1321 on the ruins of a 6th-century basilica. The monastery was declared a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990 and in 2006 it was placed on UNESCO's World Heritage List under the name of Medieval Monuments in Kosovo.

Stefan was an excellent guide with extensive knowledge and experience. He has a pleasant sense of humor, and was fun to get to know.

This tour was a bit disappointing. The driver and guide were very nice, and Sofia (our guide) spoke excellent English. The car was clean and comfortable, and the driver never gave us a reason to be concerned. But beyond that, this felt more like a glorified taxi ride than a tour. There honestly wasn't that much information. When we got to Pristina, her entire tour couldn't have been more than 10 minutes, then we had 60 minutes of "free time". Same in Prizren. If your looking for an informative tour, look elsewhere. If your looking for transportation to Kosovo with a bit of info thrown in, this is for you.

I really enjoyed the tour. The guide was nice and gave me a lot of information about the country and the people. If you compare it with other countries, Kosovo has not so much in the sense of spectacular sights and places to visit. That's the only reason I didn't rate this five stars. For me the most interesting part was getting to know the history and learning how people are living there now. The organisation of the tour was excellent.
