Budapest is just too far of a destination from Belgrade. This tour was ok, but you lose so much time traveling and at the border that I didn't feel like I had any time to enjoy Budapest. My tour guide was wonderfully kind, but he is so soft spoken that I basically did not hear any of the information he was telling me from the front of the car. I had ZERO time to do anything on my own. I barely had 20 min to run and purchase some souvenirs before we had to head back.

This was quite a long drive, but let me tell you, "It was worth it!" Aleksandar made sure to keep us entertained and comfortable for the drive. We got some of the most wonderful views that will never be forgotten. If you want to take a quick trip to another city/country this is a great choice! This was one of the most beautiful cities that I have ever seen.

This was a wonderful tour that my wife and I enjoyed. Though it was about 12+ hours and we had a long wait at the border check post between Serbia and Hungary, it was still very much worth it. Alexander was an excellent tour guide and kept us well informed of all the key sites and topography of Budapest. Alexander was punctual, polite and very informative. I would strongly recommend this tour.

We were warmly picked up by our guide Alex from our hotel and headed straight to Budapest. On the way Alex give us a detailed schedule and along the way he explained to us the history of the country. Once in Budapest, Alex took us to all the historical sites and took his time in explaining to us in details everything we needed to know. After that we headed to have lunch and then we were given free time to visit the thermal baths which is an amazing experience. At 5.30 we were picked by Alex and headed to Belgrade.
All in all the trip was a great success thanks to Alex as he was very patient with us as we used to stop every 5 seconds to take pics, he also and tailored the tour in a way that kept us very happy and comfortable. Alex was very informative, you can tell he knows what he is talking about and that he has a passion for what he is doing. I would highly recommend this day trip, ask for Alex for an amazing day in Budapest.

As four US citizens two couples staying in Belgrade, we were intrigued by the idea of taking a day trip to Budapest in neighboring Hungary. Yes, it is a long day, requiring more than a three hour drive each way but we decided it was totally worth it. From beginning to end, this tour far exceeded our expectations which were already pretty high. Our tour guide, Alexander, picked us up promptly at 7:30 am from our lodging and we immediately felt comfortable with him. His English was impeccable and he did an impressive job of explaining the history and culture of our destination in a way that was interesting and easy to follow as we traveled through northern Serbia and across the border into Hungary. We appreciated the personalized nature of this private tour and our guides flexibility and suggestions about how to make the best use of our time in Budapest. We were fortunate to be touring the city in the off season as it was not crowded and we were treated to breathtaking views and scenery from several overlooks. The view of the city and Danube River from Fishermans Bastion was especially memorable. We had plenty of time to get a great overview of the city and wander along a pedestrian area visiting the small shops and seeing the Christmas decorations. We bought paprika and some of the locally made marzipan liquor to take home. We were glad we had our winter hats and gloves with us since it was a bit windy, especially at the overlooks. Our guide recommended a local restaurant and we enjoyed our lunch of traditional Hungarian cuisine. Once we finished our meal, it was getting dark and time to leave. After the great meal and the touring, we relaxed and even slept a bit on the ride home. This is by far one of the best escorted tours we have taken and we all agreed it was a great value as well. We look forward to taking more Viatours in the future.
