One price for up to six. A completely private, guided highlights tour of one of the greatest museums in the world. I am an friendly, insured, licensed, Blue Badge Guide with a degree in Classical History. I cut away myths and explain a wide range of the most important objects in the collection. The Rosetta Stone, Egyptian Pharaohs, a scared metal cat. The Parthenon marbles, to a bust of Homer and spectacular, classical jewellery. Unusual roman glass, to Pompeii wall paintings. Early British gold and silver from a boat burial. I work with families, and their children are very welcome, as are groups, couples, individuals and students. We also enter very quickly as we will be to the front of the line.

What To Expect
The British Museum
Hear an introduction to the museum and its collections. You will see the Rosetta Stone the key to Egyptian history and how to hear how it was translated. See a statue of Tutankamun, hear about his life and how he died. Sarcophagus motives, canopic jars, and the book of the dead. Hear about the origins of Rome, its technology some classic propaganda in glass, alligator armor, and exquisite gold jewelry. Greek statuary, a gold headdress, and amazons fighting. All inside one of the greatest museums in the world.

5.00We booked this tour as a treat for our 12-year-old grandson who has developed a passion for ancient history and mythology. Andrew was brilliant and more than met expectations. We spent most of the time covering Greece, not only about what happened but why. Andrew engaged our grandson in discussion for two and a half hours; unheard of! A brief text from him about 2 hours in to the tour sums up any recommendation – “still having the time of my life”.

5.00Anthony was an incredible guide — deeply knowledgeable, experienced, and wonderful with kids. He’s clearly passionate about history and seems to truly enjoy himself in collections he’s clearly been to hundreds of times. We focused on ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman history which was the perfect for kids. Highly recommend this for adults or families.

5.00A private tour of the British Museum is definitely the way to go! Anthony is incredibly knowledgeable! He arrived before our meeting time so we could be first in line when the doors opened. This gave us a little bit of a cushion to enjoy the museum before it got crazy busy. He provided a wonderful tour and highly recommend!

5.00Anthony was the most intelligent storyteller guide we have have ever had! We did highlights of the British museum which was amazing! He had the ultimate insight into the history of anything we asked about. Truly such an intellect but able to reveal a story in the most engaging manner. He skillfully navigated the museum and helped us make the best & most efficient use of our time at the museum. He was FIRST in line for us to enter in the morning and new exactly how to take us around the museum with the fewest crowd interruptions - a true hero in tourist season. We can't recommend this forensic archeologist guide highly enough. When we make our way back to London we already have said we will book him for the week - he's that good!
