Savoca
Once we arrive in the art city of Savoca, a small village where many scenes from the film "The Godfather" by Fred Francis Coppola were shot, we will stop at the Vitelli bar, famous for being the bar in the film, where it will be possible to taste a typical Sicilian granita. Another stop on our tour will be the church of "Santa Maria in cielo Assunta" which we also find in some excerpts of the film such as the wedding between Michael Corleone and Apollonia.

The driver and guide met us right at the port. Communication as awesome. Our tour guide, Marissa, was AMAZING!!! She was fun, funny, accommodating, well spoken and an all-around perfect guide. Fulvio met us at each destination and was also a great guy. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this tour. The towns we visited were spectacular. My mother had mobility issues and they were even accommodating to those needs. Great tour!!

We had a driver and a guide which allowed the driver to let us out of the vehicle and the guy that could start our tour telling us about the city while he went and park the car into mountain town.. We went to two mountain top towns the driving had a lot of switchback turns that was incredible. Recommendations would include the church where there are mummies, not in the Egyptian style, but through essential oils. It’s quite interesting to see the clothing, shoes, and dress from 300 to 500 years ago. The mountain top towns offer magnificent vistas towards the sea. The people were quite accommodating and outgoing to talk to us. I would recommend going to those towns early in the morning before all the tourist arrive. It was interesting to see the village at 9 AM and its natural state. When we left several hours later, the population had expanded significantly. Taormina was much different than the two mountain top Villas, this town was closer to the sea, with a unique feel, much high-end shopping, local product, some excellent restaurants, and I’m sure some not excellent restaurants. Aurora was our tour guide, she was excellent, extremely knowledgeable about each town and the historical significance. Our driver was Elvis, he was very adept at finding locations to drop us off in the middle of all the sights and sounds.

I wasn't fortunate to have made the trip due to flights delays in the US. But, Fulvio was a great sport and took our friends for a fabulous trip around town. He even made me jealous with all the pictures, the wine, the canoli etc...we missed out but was there in spirit. Thanks, Fulvio
