What To Expect
Trakai Island Castle Museum
After reaching the island and taking off the boat, guide will lead you to the entrance to the castle and will help you to buy tickets to the castle museum to explore it on your own.
All happy we will head to local café, run by true Karaite, settled off the beaten tourist path where we will have Crimean Karaite lunch and try traditional dish - KYBYN, and while waiting until it will be baked, enjoy pint of craft beer, Karaite spirit drink and talk about us and you, tell you openly about Lithuania’s past and present. After lunch we will head back to Vilnius BUT on the different route!

5.00From afar the castle looked like floating on the lake. It was so beautiful. The guide Ruth Ost has a Ph. D degree on art related area. She was so informative. She told me lots of history. She also took me to an traditional restaurant. We had a pie and a clear soup made from lamb. I did had a wonderful time. *** Also I'd like to rate the tour of "Shared Day Trip From Riga To Kuldiga" Because you never send me the page or link.

5.00Private Baltics was, in a nutshell, outstanding. The owner, Kestas, himself went into great detail to make our stay in Vilnius comfortable (including picking us up at 5.15AM, for the balloon ride in Trakai, one hour away). And when one ride was cancelled, he took great pains to organise another! They go to great detail to make your stay comfortable. And their guides are superb - special mention of Victoria - she was smart, knowledgable, and dedicated. All in all, strongly recommend Private Baltics to any visitor to Lithuania. Unfortunately, Vilnius was the last leg of our Baltics tour, else we would certainly have used them for the other Baltic states!

5.00Hi Vilija, hope all is well and we had an awesome day and tour with Jelena today. We went to Trakai first thing in the morning (I invited her to be with us in the same car as I rented a Van) we had lunch there and then we did Vilnius finishing at 5pm. She's an excellent guide and her Portuguese is perfect. We look forward to coming back to Lithuania in the future and have more tours with you guys. Cheers Vytas
