Our guides are experienced and knowledgeable and will take you on a journey through our sky. Learn to find north and the location of our seasonal triangles, constellations and planets. Using high-powered laser pointers, we will provide you an entertaining and scholastic experience, with stories about ancient civilizations, Greek mythology, and the evolution of the Cosmos.
Our telescopes are operated with a keypad and are as easy to use as sending a text. Telescopes are pre-programmed with our object list for the night. Pressing one button on the keypad moves the telescope to the next object.
We regularly view the following types and classes of objects: Galaxies, Nebulae, Star Clusters, Double and Binary Stars, Planets, Earth’s Moon, Globular Clusters, Comets, and more. Depending on timing, the International Space Station (ISS) and Starlink trains can be seen passing overhead.

What To Expect
Stargazing Joshua Tree is pleased to host you, family, & friends for an entertaining evening of stargazing and astronomy under the internationally certified dark skies of Joshua Tree. Starting with a short walk through a scale model of our solar system, our guides will familiarize you with our neighboring planets as astronomical twilight begins to set. Each guest lounges in their own Yogibo. These seats conform to your body, eliminating pressure points to make it comfortable and easy to view the star-filled sky. Our astronomers will present a 2-hour program that includes state-of-the-art telescopes and laser pointers to guide you around the constellations and objects of the night sky. We also provide guests an up-close view of celestial objects (galaxies, nebulae, clusters) through our powerful telescopes. Hot beverages are provided - hot chocolate, coffee and tea. TRANSPORTATION IS NOT INCLUDED. Guests transport themselves to tour location. ACTIVITY IS WEATHER DEPENDENT. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will attempt to reschedule your experience, or provide you with a 100% refund. We are not responsible for any expenses made outside of our operations.

Matt and Chris were incredibly knowledgeable and creative in how they explained the universe, making everything feel accessible and inspiring. We even saw a very bright shooting star! 5.00We attended on a cold, clear night in late November. It was great! The time looking through the scopes was interesting and the time laying down, looking at the stars was amazing. I learned a lot, saw the Milky Way and many constellations and other things. Highly recommend!

5.00The day before our tour, we thought it would be canceled due to rain and heavy clouds—we were so disappointed. The team asked us to wait until 2:00 PM for a final decision, and right on time they called to let us know the tour was still happening, just starting a little later. So grateful they stayed flexible and kept us updated! We arrived at 6:00 PM, and the directions made it super easy to get to what felt like the middle of nowhere—exactly the kind of secluded spot you want for stargazing. The staff was amazing from the start. Matt opened with a fun and engaging introduction to the solar system, using relatable examples that made everything easy to understand. Afterward, he guided us through a fascinating tour of the night sky. Once we moved to the telescopes, the experience became truly incredible. We saw so many celestial objects up close—it felt magical. Even though the weather was cold (luckily it didn’t rain!), the team went above and beyond by providing blankets, chocolates, and hand warmers. Small touches that made a huge difference. This is a fantastic team dedicated to making the most out of your experience. Absolutely one of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Highly recommend!

5.00What an incredible experience! The team were super knowledgeable and had all the gear. It was chilly but they did a great job with blankets, hot chocolate and even hand warmers ! We saw nebulas, galaxies, the rings of Saturn and they had a cool laser to point out the zodiac constellations. Highly recommend! Thanks 🙏

5.00This tour is perfection. It is the perfect mix of entertainment, education, and awe. Our guide, Devon, was an absolute gem. She kept everyone of all ages engaged, weaving humor and facts into her storytelling, taking us all deep into a magical journey in space. We snuggled under our blankets on bean bag chairs, sipped hot chocolate, and left wanting more stories. As someone who had never seen professional telescopes, I am still dreaming of the extraordinary magic I saw.

5.00Fantastic! Very knowledgeable guide who gave a lot of information about planets and stars in easy to understand way. The bean bag loungers were great. Was cold but we had wool blankets. They had over half dozen telescopes pointed at various stars and nebulae.. amazing! Drive there while still dusk.. makes it easier.. signs were good. Never seen so many stars in my life!!
