My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in St. Lucia and included a tour at Project Chocolat. We very much enjoyed learning about the cocoa trees and aspects of the habitat on the island. Making the chocolate at the end of the tour was informative and fun. They have quite a few products for sale that we acquired for gifts for our children. If you like chocolate and enjoy learning about nature, I would recommend the experience.

We did the tree to bar tour and it was excellent, highly recommend. Our tour guide John was brilliant, as was Vienna who helped us with the chocolate making. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Lunch was included and was very filling, tasty and authentic St Lucian cuisine. We forgot to collect our chocolate at the end so don’t forget to do this before you leave! 10/10 must do experience when in St Lucia!!

Me and my friend really enjoyed this experience. We were met on the grounds by Mr. Paris (also goes by Jamaica) who graciously offered to take pictures of us. And told us where else we would find good photo ops. Tahj was our main tour guide who introduced the cacao plant to us, taught us how the plants are cared for and took us on a walk through the beautiful gardens. The coffee making experience was a lot of fun! We didn’t realize that this experience included a lunch. One main two sides, a local juice, and ice cream at the end as well as the chocolate bar you take with you. The ladies guiding the chocolate making did a great job. The staff at the bar as well as the in the food court were very gracious and kind. Highly recommend this experience. I would also recommend this for kids older than about 8. Anything younger might not appreciate it. This is also a tour that requires waking and climbing stairs. So be prepared. Flip flops were fine, but I’m not sure of the accommodations for mobility issues.

We were in a small group, the last one of the day. We initially tried to book through our hotel tour but they had no places, we only had that day but managed to book ourselves direct. Took a good hour to drive there from Marigot Bay. We enjoyed making chocolate but thought as part of the tour we would get to see more of the plantation. Our group lead was very knowledgeable. There were some interesting food stalls, however, they were shut by the time we had finished. I wish we had known this so we could bye some in advance and ask for it to be kept in the fridge as I could see a lot being thrown away.

The tour was a good length so as not to spend too much time in the heat. The grafting demonstration was great and we even got to taste the cacao beans straight from the tree. Lunch was great from street food style vans with cacao worked into most menu options. The cacao mac and cheese and the cacao pulled pork burger were excellent! Staff were lovely and knowledgable. It didn’t feel too touristy or commercialised which was refreshing to see!

The experience was unforgettable. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Our guide, Tahj, was very knowledgeable and patient. The tour is so informative learning about how chocolate was discovered to how its used all around the world today. This tour is a MUST DO while visiting St Lucia!

I recently visited Hotel Chocolat in St. Lucia and took part in their chocolate-making experience, and it was an unforgettable highlight of my trip. From the moment we arrived at the Rabot Estate, the surroundings were absolutely stunning—lush greenery, cacao trees, and breathtaking views that instantly set a relaxing and immersive atmosphere. The experience itself was both fun and informative, giving us a deeper appreciation for how chocolate is made from bean to bar. What I loved most was how hands-on everything was. We got to work with real cacao, grind the nibs, and create our own chocolate, which made the experience feel authentic and interactive. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was engaged and enjoying themselves throughout. It wasn’t just a workshop—it felt like a cultural experience, learning about the history of cacao in St. Lucia while being surrounded by the very plantation it comes from. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the island. Whether you’re a chocolate lover or just looking for something unique to do, Hotel Chocolat delivers an experience that is both delicious and memorable.
